My issue with Todd is this: he is utterly incapable of being objective with music if its a genre he doesn't like.

I don't think I'll ever stop liking his videos, but defending Nyberg and calling him a close personal friend is just execrable. Even Rush Limbaugh stopped defending Bill Cosby after shit had time to be exposed in the sun for awhile.

Has his identity seriously never been confirmed? He's been a relatively known critic for years.

Though I wonder if his confidence about his relative anonymity is what gives him the guts to defend Nyberg.

I'm not sure. His IMDB page (yes, CA people actually have fucking IMDB pages) lists his name as "Todd Nathanson", but says he was born "Kenneth Munson".

I'm certain the photo's the right one. He also said he used to be a movie critic for a newspaper in his Dark of the Moon v-log, so if you look up "Todd Nathanson" or "Ken Munson" and "movie critic", you might find something.
 
Todd's mask gimmick is stupid overall. Thinking about it more, I'm sure he originally adopted it to shield himself mentally from the criticism and attention that follows being a public figure.

It's almost certainly a holdover from the primordial days of YT, where many idiot vloggers made a fad of hiding their faces (and making identities out of their disguises) so they could talk as much shit as possible with less fear of doxxing and personal attacks.

I don't blame anybody who doesn't want their identity to get out on the Internet. Look at how much shit people give guys like Thunderf00t if you want an example of that.

But Todd's just vile, plain and simple. Regardless of what his real name or stupid face is, the dude's politics have become outright reprehensible.

Oh, absolutely. I wouldn't criticise anyone for taking steps to avoid being doxxed, but people like Todd seem unwilling or unprepared to deal with the two-way nature of the Internet: the more public you make your opinions, the more public you make yourself.

I wouldn't say this about most people, but that's a really distinctive chin and it's obviously either the same guy or someone who just happens to have an eerily similar distinctive chin. I'm going with the first theory.

Also, the name "Ken Munson" sounds absolutely stupid.

And don't say The Beastie Boys The Chili Peppers or RATM. I refuse to count them as nü-metal.

On another note, he has a new review out where he actually gives a relatively positive review to an old nü-metal act's song even though he hates every other song the band wrote. His politics deserve nothing but scorn, but he's always been willing to listen attentively to things that he hates.
