He'll be sent to both civilian and military jail, but I suspect that he'll be deemed unfit for actual military service because I doubt anyone's gonna trust him with a box-cutter much less a rifle and grenade.

Goes into the split from atheist youtube into "atheism+" and the "skeptics" - the ones who had initially supported Amos Yee. Acknowledges again that they were behind him, and were ultimately let down when Yee said CP should be legal. :lit:
It's a nice recap of the period where some still believed that Yee was trolling, and then we all found out that, no, he was serious. Dankula also talks about debating him.

I believe that he was spared from entering the Singapore military or defected from it in favor of his neo philosophical r/atheism YouTube channel and ramblings? He was also living in the USA even when he reached the age for him to do his duty and even hypothetically....
Wait, apparently according to Tom Dark's documentary video on Ye he had his head shaved in preparation for the military? It's been ages since I have checked up on Amos Ye.

Whatever happens to Amos after he's deported back to Singapore is at Singapore's discretion.

Most likely: upon landing in Singapore, Amos' name will have been flagged as a draft dodger (aka, a defaulter), then he'll be immediately arrested, charged, and put into military detention to await trial. Once he inevitably gets the maximum sentence (he created an international incident embarrassing the Singaporean government, managed to earn asylum in America, and lived in America for almost 10 years, only to fuck it up by being a child-grooming pedophile, he's GOING to be made an example of), he'll serve his time in prison and then have to do his mandatory 2 years of military service.

Unless Amos discovers the power of Shutting the Fuck Up about 10 years too late, I doubt he makes it past the next 5 years.

The only reason he's even here in the US in the first place is because he was fleeing prosecution for obscenity/blasphemy/defamation in Singapore. He very intentionally made himself Public Enemy Number 1 in Singapore back in the mid-2010s and never outgrew his repeated inclinations to piss people off at every opportunity possible. He's going to mouth off to the wrong person and end up getting his ass mutilated or worse.

I understand your incredulity, but wanting to believe there must be a brain problem doesn't make it so.

They entertain the idea because they have to turn a blind eye to it in order to exist in the communities where these things are a problem; they're constantly exposed to it and it germinates. They make themselves willfully stupid because they're afraid of losing access to their buddies and their coom.

for a concrete example, there's the two-tiered system of EPI and "cringe" captions. The latter are just wafered down and plausibly deniable versions of the former, with the same aesthetics and motifs (emojis; Fortnite and cartoon chsracters; etc). These watered down versions are distributed in more public-facing servers and platforms where members are less likely to be ok with the explicit thing.

It's the same two-tiered presentation you see with zoo and "feral" msterial. It's extremely blatant, but the members of those groups will themselves not to see it because they'd have to leave the group gooning VCs.

It does take a lot, but they do a lot. These are places where people explicitly speedrun hypersensitization and fetish aquisition. This isn't speculation. Go into any gooning server (don't actually do this) and see it in action. If you don't want to do that, go check out the gooner thread.

Apparently gooning also has a chance of making you a sorcerer, which I feel is under-emphasized in the discourse on the subject. Not thread relevant though.

For those who don't know about prison in Singapore, there are lots of slop documentaries on Youtube about it, this is just the first one that came up in a search:

In addition to a prison that the average westerner would consider harsher than usual (although still much better than many third world countries imo), Singapore also still practices corporal punishment, AKA beating you with a cane. It's common to get X years and Y lashes for various offenses in Singapore. The main thing is you go to prison for a wider variety of offenses in Singapore than you would in the USA. "Drug consumption" is a thing there, here we would only charge for possession. If we're lucky Yee will get some lashes on top of whatever prison sentence they give him, it's the least they could do. This is assuming we're revoking his asylum status and deporting him, which imo seems likely as he's in ICE custody. I mean, why else would he be?

It's not what I "want" to believe, it's what I firmly believe. I know you think because of what you've seen in the gooning thread that it must be people "turning into" pedophiles, but I guarantee you the egg came before the chicken here: it's not simply that these people are just ordinary masturbators going down a rabbit hole, but they've already had pedophilic or degenerate urges their entire lives, and the material they're consuming is designed to erode their inhibition around the feelings they already had so they can gain the bravado to act on them. Much like someone trying to "build up courage" to do a dangerous task.

If someone could simply "turn into" a pedophile, that'd be far more comforting, because it would mean we'd be able to intervene and stop the process. It'd mean we could backwards-engineer the process and fix people afflicted by it. The problem is, it isn't that simple or clean cut. There are a huge number of factors that go into who will become a child predator that happen throughout their entire life.

I believe attempting to just explain pedophilia and child predation as "just a fetish" that you can induce from fapping to shitty degenerate jpegs is dangerously reductive and naive. The people making and consuming this stuff are already fucked up, they just egg each other on to get worse.

Amos Yee is actually a good example of what I'm talking about: he's never, ever been normal. He's been a smirking, shit-eating malignant narcissist his whole life. He put his whole family through hell on a national stage just because he liked the publicity. He openly attacked things people cared about not out of a sense of duty, but because he loved the thrill of being the center of attention and causing distress to people. He's always been a piece of shit, and the fact that he's a disgusting pedo is just one more factor in all of that.

Unless you can ground it in actual evidence, that's the same thing.

Of course someone with personality disorders and moral failures more generally is going to be at a higher risk for that kind of thing, but it's an unjustified leap to go from there to "there's an innate pedophile essence at the core of this person's being".

I sympathize, but you have no evidence of that—and I have to push back becsuse it plays into the "MAP" narrative.
