Yes. Singaporean prisons are immensely more fucked than ours. Maximum security prisons are notoriously under-kept on purpose, lauding their captivity not as cruel but as "Spartan" as a way to instill that comfort as a whole is a privilege and not a right. As such they have immensely clean and structured maximum security prisons that are more draconian versions of American prisons. From here, the quality of imprisonment and inmate safety of the prisons drop immensely. General-population is variable and can range from a normal jail to a third-world labor camp if I'm not mistaken.

The biggest thing to keep in mind is that in Singapore there is no sex offender/pedophile registry. Once the pedo has done their time; that's it. They're gone, off the hook and blend right back in with the crowd.
As such inmates have a narrow window of time to do something about it, so when they learn that someone is a notable sex offender; they act.

Amos had better hope there's some kind of deity on his side because if he gets taken to GenPop and they find out he's a pedophile; they will change his gender with a shiv.

There's an old Hong Kong movie called Riki Oh. It's probably the bloodiest HK action film ever made.

I would be surprised if my country's prisons ever get to that level. This is a subject I have very little information on.

Part of his video celebrating Lee Kuan Yew's death he compared the guy to Jesus and thought they were both power hungry tyrants and he got sentenced for making videos shitting on Islam alongside Christianity. He was a diehard New Atheist because he watched TJ Kirk's videos which probably explains how Yee turned out the way he did.

Does he do stuff with bananas and his bum like Amazing Atheist TJ Kirk? Someone notorious can survive prison if he stays or becomes humble and notes how prisoners usually are incurious about each other's crimes, but pedo Yee is apparently not someone of quiet humility.

I'm afraid I can't agree. At least not completely.

The ability to grievously harm children in that way is something that goes beyond "fetish" behavior. It requires a much, much darker pathology. One where the suffering of the victim is either blocked out by extreme delusion or, far worse, part of the appeal. Normal human functioning will always run contrary to this, so something in the brain or psyche has to be incredibly broken.

I'm not convinced that someone can just jerk their meat too much and all of a sudden they wanna fuck kids. The desire or willingness to even entertain the idea of going that far points to a deep-rooted psychological, personality or even brain disorder. Anyone is capable of anything, sure, but it takes a lot for an ordinary person to do something horrible.

In this article they go into supposed cases where people who "weren't pedophiles" became them after a head injury, iirc from studying each case more closely, it became clear that either they always were but had enough inhibition to resist the urge, or they were outright lying about not being attracted to children before as part of a legal defense. This is a lot of inference on my part, though.

If I may be so bold, I think the problem is actually the classic pendulum cycle: parents grow up with strict and abusive parents, and they went to do better when they grow up, but as a result only end up enabling and over-indulging their children. I've heard too many stories of wonderful, caring people who grew up in abusive households and wanted to break the cycle, but ended up having their kids walk all over them.

If they're lucky, they can break the cycle and start disciplining the kids without being tyrants, and everything works out. But if they're unlucky, you end up raising a monster. (I suspect this is what happened with Jason Hall aka PirateSoftware. Either way his father raised a spoiled piece of shit but that's another matter.)

Thanks for the information; I confess that I prefer to not follow this stuff - it can wear on you after a while - so this is honestly helpful.

So will he be sent to the Singapore military first or jail first? I want to believe he got picked up by ICE because things are improving, but odds are they are going to make an example out of him for being a draft dodger because war is coming.
