He was picked up by ICE last year as soon as he got out of prison (which he had spent additional time in for violating parole) and he's been in ICE custody for the last couple months.

Singapore prison is pretty orderly, like the rest of the country. You're not getting pounded in the ass there, they don't even have Mutt's Law there. They will cane your ass bloody though.
 
He who sought to stay out of Singapore will now return to it. I don't think many "free speech advocates" will be standing up for him this time.
 
I consider the fact Amos isn't being executed by the state a failure of our government and I hope that Singapore does the right thing

i was just about to say this ^ this is correct
my guess is his "service" will amount to being given the absolute worst most disgusting jobs available, probably not even military jobs
i have a feeling Amos is going to be using a scrub brush to clean public toilets "in the name of national security" or something
they are going to make him suffer, no doubt

It's pretty brutal, but I can't really say it's an atrocity beyond civilization. Personally, I have managed never to get caned in Singapore with these simple tricks:

  • don't go to Singapore
  • if you do go to Singapore leave your drugs at home
  • and then also don't commit crimes.
