She doesn't think past the next meal because she doesn't plan on being alive past the next meal, honestly. If she's got to come up with 23 reasons to motivate herself to lose weight at 552lbs, barely able to breathe and the list of things she's unable to do being 10x longer than the list of things she can do, gorl isn't planning on losing weight. That's why her worldview is is short term, impulsive, and only focused on hedonistic pleasures.
 
Amber is a perpetual foster child. She somehow found a way to extend foster care past 18.

You do realize Dysthymia is also a depressive disorder, right? Usually treated with antidepressants. Not sure what you're trying to get at here.

Her excuse for not getting a place of their own is that Becky doesn't want to move away from Eric and Ricky. But she could of even bought her own fag house- a house for her, Becky, Eric and I'm not sure if Ricky would move into something like that but maybe since the bills would be paid. Houses are probably cheap in Kentucky.
 
The lexapro thing is obviously insane - she is behaving like she was 110lbs before she started on it. But if she didn't have the lexapro to blame, she'd just be blaming something or someone else. Before this it was BED, after this it'll probably be the holiday season. Like all megafatties, emotional immaturity has a large bearing on her situation: complete rejection of culpability for her decisions, like a child, is why she's that fat in the first place. She justifies (I will not say rationalises) her caloric intake no matter how deranged her reasoning is; this is a woman who calls diets unhealthy vis-à-vis eating 6000cal a day because "I have to eat to survive". This is not Amber being dumb (although she is certainly dumb), this is rather a manifestation of her total refusal to do anything difficult, because it would entail behaving like an adult. She will never lose weight until she takes responsibility for herself, and she will never do so; ergo, she will never lose weight.

If Amber were to buy a house in Kentucky, that would be admitting that she's trapped and never going to leave.
 
She's a leech for sure, but at this point she has eaten herself into a state of true dependency. It's not just that she doesn't want to drive, she's now waaaaay too big to fit behind a steering wheel. There's probably no public transportation where she lives, either.

I think it's the low level depression nature of dysthymia that they're referring to. It's like being in a bad mood every day for several years, but the thing with Hambert is that her "depression" in general is situational and always has been. Dysthymia is effectively treated with anti-depressants because it's truly a chemical imbalance. In fact, I know someone who was treated for it with Prozac and lost almost 50 elbeezzz. I don't know of any real way to treat situational depression aside from CBT and she's unwilling to do that.

You can use SSRIs as a tool to treat situational depression as well, but usually because they can get people to the point where they are able to carry out some form of care plan for themselves and get off of them in relatively short order.

Honestly I don't think she was any form of depressed at all. I think she was sad and upset with herself, but I think the easy access to antidepressants worked as both an excuse and a finger to the haydurs in her mind. She wanted something to be wrong that couldn't possibly be her fault, and was able to use the side effects of the pills as an excuse for months. Honestly it worked great for her, until the 8 week point hit where they actually start working and she quickly learned why you don't take psychotropics if you don't need them.

This is so on point. At the end of the day, great, she makes money. But what is it worth to run? To dance? To have sex? To hike? All without being out of breath and miserable. At the end of it all, she has nothing but diabetes and hawt cash when she could be living. And gorl is happy to have it be that way.

yeah they are I just went on Zillow for Monticello, KY and you can get a house for less than 50k. housing cost is definitely not a reason here.

Also, I did a quick Google: BJ's appears to specialize in pizza and pasta. From the pics this one looks to be in Lexington, they've probably been there shopping all day, spending Amber's Haute Cash at Torrid and no doubt ate lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.

Holy crap, is that true? Shocking thing for a Californian to hear. If she actually did make 10k a month, she could probably save up and pay cash in a year. Why wouldn’t you do that?

I think the casting call thing is real. There are 500 channels out there, all looking for content, and lots of shows we’ve never heard of. If a person has any kind of internet presence at all, they’ll eventually be contacted by some production company. They set up a Skype call and then if they aren’t interested, they don’t bother to tell you. So I think it’s real.

As for travel, even the biggies like MSHPL make them get to Houston on their own. (Probably pay for expenses, gas, etc). But it may not have been a fati thing, maybe a foster kid thing, gay in the south thing. Amber may not even know. Could be anything really.
