Im sure the sugar and constantly fear brushing has really worn down her teeth.
Power Level - I've worked in a dentistry-adjacent field. In her case the problem isn't the sugar, it's the acidity of all the fizzy shit she drinks. If you eat a lot of sugar it feeds the bacteria that can cause weakening of the enamel, which then causes decay. If you just drink things with a tart note (meaning that it's acidic), regardless if it's sugar free, the acid directly attacks the enamel. It works faster and causes more damage than just not brushing your teeth.
