I caught that immediately and it's because Amber is extremely terrified of ghosts too and she actually tries to hide it (remember she's mentally stunted). She never fails to mention she doesn't believe in any of that stuff but there's been occasions when she gave herself away. I remember one time specifically when she just moved to Kentucky with Destiny and in the video she shows a trapdoor on the ceiling of Destiny's closet, Amber almost shat herself by looking at it and said that it was so scary (I can't find that clip anymore) and that's why she left that room for Destiny's stuff, later there was something about the previous house basement and other hints. That's why she has never said what's the actual reason about her not being able to sleep alone, the excuses always change and are vague (it's not like a child molester or sleep apnea could crawl out of that trapdoor or Eric and Ricky's basement)
Anyway, they're immature and are afraid of people using their biggest fear against them (we know a premature death doesn't cut it for Amber).
No one remembers this gem? At around 8:30, she and Libby are in the apartment alone, and AL is freaking out over the fact that her and Destiny's alarm turned on bY iTsElF! It MUST be ghosts/poltergeists; she is soooo scared b/c they just watched Paranormal Activity! The charade continues for the remainder of the video to the point that even the then-15-year-old Libby is getting annoyed with Amber's overreacting antics, while Destiny doesn't play into it at all and is outright annoyed/checked out the entire time this dumb shit is being relayed to her. I always thought AL was playing it up for the camera and trying way too hard to be "cute" (and dainty) but considering she hasn't mentally matured past around age 13, I could see her reaction as being at least partially genuine.
