In the comments of a reaction channel that covered this, there were other things that didn't add up

I almost hate to play the advocate, but as usual, these comments from reaction channels are retarded and they don't know what the fuck they are talking about.
Most even medium volume vets are open on holidays, let alone days before or after. A ton of bullshit happens during these times. Most vet offices are closed the day after Thanksgiving and certainly wouldn't schedule a surgery for that day.
-You have strange pets coming to stay with family and put into an established dynamic
-Stress diarrhea from having a ton of strangers over
-Mocha decides to countersurf the kids table since they left a shit ton of food unattended
-People who are boarding forget they need their pets entire vaccine history to enter the boarding facility and they're there now (or worse, they won't be admitted till they slide in to your clinic for an exam and that distemper they let expire)
-Mocha has to travel in the car for 6 hours and they forgot they need a refill of her sedative
...the list goes on. Holidays make a lot of money.
Depending on how many doctors they have at the clinic Twinkie goes to, there is usually a specific surgery day set for each vet so there are no conflicts in the surgery suite. If her's is Fridays, you bet your ass they will be there. Days "in observance of holidays" really aren't a thing in this industry. Even on Christmas eve at a high volume, non boarding clinic, it's rare to get a half day.
This is not true. A healthy older dog with good liver/kidney function blood work results will absolutely be a candidate for even the casual 'lumpy bumpies' that have cleared a biopsy for being benign. Especially if the area will impede the pet from sleeping comfortably or will be underneath them while they rest in certain positions. Laser removal is also a lot more common now and cuts healing time significantly. Mass removals are no big deal.Vets shy away from doing invasive surgery on older dogs.
Vets usually schedule them by time. Sometimes you just have a kitten spay and a couple of dentals scheduled (they require anesthesia so it's considered a surgery, but the techs will do most of the work here), so there's absolutely time to slide in a fat Chihuahua mix for a little mass removal. Something that size is easily added to the schedule. How would Twinkie even get a surgery slot on such short notice?
Let's also not forget, this may not be her primary care vet. They could have referred her to a specialist/Emergency services vet nearby. They're open 24/7 365
tldr: its absolutely possible, commenters are fat retards who lie about their creds to try to own amber
