He does seem like he's putting himself through a lot of troubleshooting for trash in recent times. Most of his older stuff didn't have him needing to flop through multiple different CPU emulations and entire virtual machines just to run a single game properly. And for a game that isn't even worth to look back on nostalgically.
I can understand him going back for games he played in the past to see if they were this bad but 95% of the review is his struggling against the game.

Ross's wife IS a massive shut-in -- he constantly mentions she has "anxiety issues" so leaving Gdansk is triggering or whatever (Ross mentioned the USA scares her -- it is funny nothing about Eastern Europe spooks them but maybe that's why everything's going slow now because her safe-space is a firecracker nowadays). ANYWAY, besides bitching about Ross's personal reasons, if you even started to watch his GUI video, you learn why his videos take so long. Ross is the kind of man who will spend 6 months to develop a way to fix a 10-second delay in editing (which he will only take advantage of twice). His hatred of Windows and attempts to bastardize it into early 2000s Linux is handicapping him severely. If he was hired to work at a modern company that uses Windows software, he'd spend 9+ months making the software work "efficiently" for him and his benchmarks instead of doing the job. That is why his videos are slow IMO.

I disagree, the most important thing about Lolcow is constant attention whoring, and Ross seems okay with sitting in his bunker and putting a video every 3 months. Even when he goes for politics it's never a normie subject and it is never virtue signaling.
I agree that that is what he is, but it would take relatively little change in his presentation, mannerisms and subject matter to transform from his current web persona of "quirky autistic crusader punching up above his education as carefully as he can while still never admitting defeat" (at least, that's how I'd describe him in his long form rant videos about stuff like UI, game preservation, and GAAS as fraud), to "self-absorbed, pretentious, delusional moron and self appointed game preservation messiah."
Perhaps calling him "prime lolcow material" was a betrayal of my own worries: will the reception of "The Movie" be the catalyst for all those lolcow ingredients to join? Ross has shared hopes of it getting attention beyond his existing viewer base. If he gets a response of apathy or worse, I hope he handles it well.
