Guessing he’s referring to shit like Destiny and Anthem where large chunks of the game will die once the servers die. The only exceptions to this rule that come to mind are shit like Souls or MHW, where they’re meant to be played as either an MMO OR an offline single player game

It's unbelievable how many brainlets on Reddit misunderstood the argument as being against MMOs or something. Almost all "games as services" with small parties could be run with a p2p lobby system, they just choose to kill the game rather than enable that functionality at the end of its lifespan. Games like MMOs with larger parties can enable private servers, but again, they just don't when the games shut down.

This is my favourite type of Game Dungeon selection - a stupid, obtuse narrative game that has some care put into the visuals and design, that works well as a highlighted LP:

Huh, I had no idea this guy was still making content. I really enjoyed Freeman's mind back in the day.

I'm personally not enjoying his HL2 Freeman's Mind at all, I don't know whether the style aged badly, or whether I'm tired of it. Either way, he's smart to space the releases out.

He's doing a lot more of those gimmicky bits where he skips obvious physics puzzles or other intended puzzle segments. I get it's supposed to be poking fun at the overabundance of puzzles showing off Source's physics engine, but it's just kind of a weird thing to do these custom scripted shortcuts over the intended route that everyone is familiar with and can relate to.

Has he defeated the black mold that was eating his house? His voice sounds the same so it hasn't spread into his lungs, that's good news!

This was a Halloween surprise to be sure.

Phantasmagoria 2 makes me also feel nostalgic, but in two ways. For one, I remember the let's play Spoony did back in the day when he wasn't just good, but at his zenith. Then, long before I was aware of the game, there are the very fond memories teenage Fougaro had with films starring Monique Parent.

Spoony is probably the most tragic story of the ex CA members. He's the only one I have any bit of pity for.

Yes, now he's back on his full time video production schedule, not having to spend his days looking for new apartments, doing immigration paperwork, etc

Glad to hear that. I've been following his content for a long time, starting with Freeman's Mind and then moving on to Ross's Game Dungeon. He does some really comfy reviews and retrospectives, so I'm glad he's settled. I hope he continues Freeman's Mind 2 and does the episodes too.

Guess who has a reference in the new Sseth review?

I'm pretty sure Ross has some fans among that crowd. I'm surprised Internet Historian hasn't gotten Ross' unique voice for one of his Sundance Rejects projects. I mean, IH did get Fredrik Knudsen and Sseth.

Aside from the one video on Polybius by Ahoy, is Ross much of a collaborator?
