Oh wow, someone finally made a Ross thread! If there was ever a Youtuber who just needed more exposure, it's him. He's a gift to the world, and he certainly manages to make incredible content under less-than-incredible circumstances.

To me he's basically helming the RLM of video games. I want youtubers like Ross to be as succesful as humanly possible. On that note, he made a new two-part Game Dungeon!

Game Dungeon is such a treasure. My favorite one still has to be the cult simulator one, if only because Ross is pitching his ideas for what the game should be like and then is more informative about cults and how to join them than anyone I've ever seen.

Sadly due to HL2's massive driving/trekking segments, I think there's going to be a lot of episodes that are just screaming and darting from one area to the next
Ross does have a tendency to cut gameplay corners when it better suits the narrative. I wouldn't be surprised if he skips/shortens what he can't work with.

He plays it completely straight too, like everything about running a succesful cult is both obvious and completely normal. He does the same thing in that game the creator claims was made by aliens and it's great.

Nah, Ross is pretty good about writing entertaining rambling through the more down parts of the game. He's really good about that, if nothing's happening in the game he'll go on some random diatribe that provides insight into Gordon's warped mind.

I recently found his channel on youtube, and I've been binge watching the game dungeon videos and absolutely loving them. But I don't care much for Half Life (I've played around a total of about an hour of HL2, don't care much for FPS games), would I enjoy his Freeman's Mind videos even though I haven't played the games?

I'd have to say yes. Ross very rarely relies on references to the Half-Life series for his material and if you didn't know Half-Life I'd think you could still enjoy it.

I've never played the games and I enjoyed the hell out of the series. Take that as you will.

If you like his sense of humor, you'll like Freeman's Mind. It doesn't rely upon knowledge of the series at all beyond what is explicitly presented to you in the game, which you'll see anyway when watching the show.

I was surprised how political he got in that video, even in the video chats with fans, he often shies away from political topics.
