"Reptile."

Wow, I can't remember what kind of piece of shit computer I had that on, but I do remember having it
it was built into windows XP, theres been open source decompilation of it recently and ports to a ton of hardware in the last few months.

Shit, I loved playing this game while I was in elementary to high school when they had XP computers installed. Fun times.

Not from the 90’s, but from 1986. I don’t remember when or where I first saw it, but it blew my mind, I didn’t know the Amiga was capable of that at the time.

Holy crap someone mentioned Spud in this thread! I never thought I would find it again, on the farm no less.

Also I found this a while ago.
It seems to be a Myst-like for kids but in a magical forest. If you think the oak tree is uncanny, wait until the game hits nightmare mode. Too bad I didn’t have it as a kid, I think I would of preferred it over Spud.

I know this isn't the 90s. This is from 1974, and I'm not even sure if this is CGI. But the music and the audio reeks of it's time:

It's definitely CG, the credited group MAGI/synthavision, under Mathematics Application Group was founded to develop computer graphics in 1972. Here's an archive.org upload linked from the description. It's mad to think that this was possible in 74, it really doesn't seem like CG advanced as much as is acted like until the mid 80s and then the 90s, the scenery part was quite a lot to render. Now, it probably took forever to render even the simpler frames of this video, but it still blows me away.

Drowned God is by no means what I would call a "good" game. You're not gonna understand the story no thanks to the shitty audio mixing between the vocals and music (and even then, it's hard to follow what's going on as you progress). And the gameplay is pretty standard for a point-and-click adventure game up until you get to the puzzles that give you no prompt or explanation on what you have to do next to progress.
But my god, does this game ooze with atmosphere and its presentation of an out-of-this-world experience
E: Stupidass playback cockblock...
Whatever, here's a slideshow of some areas of the game with the music accompanying it.

There's an artist/designer/photographer by the name Rafi Metz whose site used to have a ton of this type of art. I wish I had saved more of them because he seems to have taken them down. Here's a few of them.
