The score in this cutscene makes it feel like your watching an animated movie. For a PS1 game, it's pretty well done.
It(Heart of Darkness) ended up on the PS1 and PC but it was meant for the 3DO and PC when it was announced back in 1993-1994. 3DO failed so they targeted Saturn and that did not go well. It was ultimately released in 1998 after a five+ year dev cycle, which was insane back then. Daikatana was considered vaporware and it didn't take as long.

Heart of Darkness is a great game that includes a kabillion sprite animations, so it took a while to make it.

I don't think anyone's posted this video, I'd say it hits the surreal CGI target.

I know OP said not vaporwave but I decided to post some cool CGI vaporwave videos anyway. They're really cool and are essentially little scenes stitched together. You can mute if you really want to:

This old Italian Disney comic blew my mind when I first read it as a kid. I only managed to find the scans of a few pages of it. 3D artwork by Valerio Hoss, 1995.

I only know of this short video because it was (famously?) sampled in a Death Grips song. I guess the aesthetic is not purely that '90es one but the animation and music brings it very close to that sweet surreal spot, imho tbqh ykwims?

I found a Twitter gimmick account that has a lot of images from video games that have a mix of the early 90s CGI and liminal space auras to them:

That one with Mario and the Freddy painting reminded me how much the Five Nights at Freddy's series stood out to me when I first saw it thanks to its graphics that looked like they came straight out of the 90s:

I'm not even sure if the developer was intentionally trying to replicate the 90s CGI aesthetic or not, but it has a great charm to it.

This is from the 2000s but has the same aesthetic. It tries to be Type O Negative and ends up more RuneScape.

The opening and closing logos of this 35mm Shonen Jump Promo from the 80s is CG. Everything else is, well... your typical cel anime stuff.
You can tell because of the scanlines and ghosting.
