...but honestly, I only know parts of the US judicial system, what is the holdup exactly? It's an unprovoked assault and the only thing in question should be Chris' mental stability. Theres is even a video, shouldn't this case be over in two to three hearings?
 
I don't understand all of this rage about a continuance.

If he gets off really lightly in the end, I can understand people who will be angry about that. I hope he doesn't get a jail sentence, but I can see the other side of the argument.

But why the hell does it matter to anyone how long it takes? I really don't get it at all. Legal shit takes a while. And when some question is brought up, like the issue of therapy, the court decides to let people take care of it and meet again when more has been figured out. It's how the world works. For everyone. Whether or not they are weird assholes like Chris.
 
Well that was anticlimactic, I wish it all came to a head today just so it would be over with but I guess we are still playing the waiting game for another few months.

Six, only two of which were continuances. The prosecutor must have had a real slam-dunk of a case that time around, since it supposedly only lasted as long as it did because Rob Bell was able to string things out until Barb couldn't afford to pay him anymore.

I understand them, tbh. Personally, I think that it's been waaay too many continuances for something so simple like pepper spray, even the car incident got solved faster (iirc).
With all these dates, one would think they had a solution ready months ago but... no. Maybe it's not that the rage is only about the continuances per sé, but the feeling of law being so incompetent (I'm not saying it is, I'm saying it seems to be that way in this particular case)
 
See this what happens when you overburden your courts and prisons with non violent drug "offenders".
 
What I'm upset about is that a continuance means further delays in any significant developments in the Kristensaga. It's kind of funny when he steps out to go to a drag show or he makes an ASS-CHAMBER FUN ® CRAYDOLF HITLER™ or he rants about a cartoon animal's colorful limbs, but I've been following the Legend since it first broke on Encyclopædia Dramatica, so I'm conditioned to expect events from Chris, not just "content."

The issue is that there's more than enough evidence to show that Chris is guilty. Even ignoring the video that clearly shows Chris doing it, there's should still be security camera footage, plus him going into the GameStop (from which he's banned) and vandalizing the Sonic Boom merchandise has happened more than once. Dragging out the case is a waste of time, and it's going to make witness testimony (if there is any) less reliable.
 
You have to realise that this time there is no victim present.
In the Snyder case there was not only bodily harm but the victim had to be there for every court date so it is sensible that the prosecution wanted this thing to start.
This time there really is no pressure, the gamestop e,ployee doesn't seem to be involved and no one was hurt.
The court doesn't care if there are a thousand continuances.
 
I don't understand the hang-up on the idea of Chris getting punished. It's not that he doesn't deserve consequences for releasing a toxic gas in a closed space and in public, but I'm not so much eager for him to get sent to PMITA prison or get community service so much as I am eager for something, anything to happen.
