And that happens to be Judge Downer Schroeder.

btw, what kind of a name is Robert Downer Jr? Did we suddenly stepped in a parody?
True and honest footage of the judge entering the courtroom:

The date you all are talking about meeting up at is in October, right? Man I'm only a few hours away but college (:_(

Well, I also have an internship and (presumably) a part-time job to worry about. But if those don't end up playing into it that day maybe I will take a road trip

I know how it can be, Silver. If you can be there, awesome. But there probably will be another continuation in October too.. at least that's what I'm betting on.

Anyone else looking to join in the trip, please contact me or Rammspieler by PM. We should have a private group to coordinate efforts soon, including what to say if a WK approaches you.

In the words of The Talking Heads - "Why go to college? Why go to night school? It's gonna be different this time!"

Optimistic to everyone around chris, not to Chris. Chris has proven himself to be fully mentally capable. Immature, but wholey capable as far as the law is concerned. Pepperspray is not a joke, and can cause massive pain and blisters, particularly if inhaled which can then be life threatening. Had chris been competent, then he could have very realistically blinded Mr. Herring. Being charged with a felony is entirely a possibility.
I just realized something:

Unless I'm really misinterpreting the law, doesn't this mean Chris cannot be found guilty of this charge? The way it's worded, it seems like guilt is predicated on resultant bodily injury, which didn't occur.

Is it possible these continuances are partly about the state figuring out what Chris can actually be convicted of?

You all know that Herring is a cop, right? If you google him you'll find he was cleared when he was part of a shooting. Second thing, the state is charging him, not a fellow citizen, I'm not a Virginian but I don't think they'll put the victim's name front and center on the court file. This isn't a civil matter. The crime of releasing noxious gas is not dependent upon if there is a victim or if that victim is pressing charges. I really don't think the GameStop kid from the video was a cop working his second job, so as far as I know, I can't say that the employee's ID is known, nor needs to be.

I really enjoy that this thread included a bunch of contextual collaborative reflection on what the farmz is, how the farmz functions and how the farmz might seem to others. This sort of existential stuff, when it's grounded in a specific incident and not just an abstruse defensive jerk-off, is totally fascinating.

Part of what makes CWC interesting is the disparity between the stories she tells herself about herself & her life vs. how she actually is or appears-- I think how wide and deep the gulf is between those two things (internal narrative vs. external appearance) is what a lot of people find compelling. For me, and I think for some others, we fear that unknown gulf in our own lives-- like walking around with your zipper down and a period blood stain on the back of your skirt and spinach in your teeth and a booger in your nose, but multiplied by ten thousand-- and so are drawn, in part through neurotic fascination, and as a means to manage our own anxiety, to an extreme example of this disparity.

(I mean, plus CWC is just entertaining in an objective and undeniable way, don't get me wrong)

But I think when the Farmz turns its analytical lens on itself, how we feel about this project and its aims is very revealing-- for instance, some have a (usually specious) moral justification, whereas as some see it as a weird and maybe even shameful vice that outsiders couldn't understand. I don't really know how I feel about it-- I don't understand most of what seems to motivate me-- so I find others' honest engagement with the question enriching.

I think it's more or less morally neutral to laugh at the stupidity of others, so long as you aren't going hugely out of your way to make someone else's life miserable, or more miserable than it is already. When you are, though, maybe they deserve it. I know a lot of people would view this site's activities and the people here as inherently just horrible people, but it just isn't that bad. It isn't really helping anyone and it isn't really harming anyone. Most cows are their own worst enemies and would actually benefit from understanding why they're cows and how they could stop. But they don't do that, which is part of why they're cows in the first place.

Anyone who thinks they're seriously morally contributing to the world by fucking with cows probably has issues, though.

It isn't really helping anyone and it isn't really harming anyone.

Precisely. It's a hobby. I couldn't really argue with somebody who thinks it's a pretty stupid hobby, but the world is full of people with stupid hobbies and society continues basically unharmed.

Unfortunately with almost any hobby there are some people who are so self-righteous they can't believe they do anything for anything less than the most noble motives, so they have to come up with a (usually torturous) explanation as to how their hobby is changing the world for the better. People claiming they are improving the world by fucking with trolls are as ridiculous as people claiming they can solve the global food crisis with backyard veggie gardens.

I already made a group called The Mother Base. I sent a few invites out. Anyone who has an interest in participating or who feels like contributing from afar, just ask to be let in.

Not to sound overly paranoid here, buy anyone filming might want to take a few small steps to alter their appearance slightly. Nothing too crazy: for example, a hat or a bandanna and a pair of sunglasses.

In fact, dressing like a lawyer could be more effective.

In my experience, if you dress like you belong in court, you aren't questioned.

And this is good advice for basically anyone in court. It's ridiculous how many criminal defendants show up dressed like trash. Their life is on the line and they look like they're at fucking Wal-Mart.
