Also, let's be real here: There are no 'based' nigerians, sikhs, chinese, or even actually British politicians in any of the current parties that stand a chance of winning. A system is what the system does; not what the system promises. Every single party is just a system that devalues the actual people of the British Isles, and seeks to make life worse for them on every level. There is no 'secret Hitler'. Both of these parties have each had effectively absolute power in their hands, and they used it, to fuck us over. This will not change.

Sue Ellen, Kemi Coconut and Jimmy Dimly are senior figures in a party that is still moderate enough to not demand it be led by a white face.
Leftists continue to be the most racist people lol - you simply cannot conceive of a non-white person having western, secular values and wanting to conserve them.

I am yet again reminded how truly awful, fucked past the post is, as a system. 11K votes rendered completely worthless.

The most vile journo on the BBC there isn't a pit in hell hot enough for that lying cow.
Not too enamoured with Tesco Value Trevor Mcdonald either. Stop flapping your hands around.

Can someone please get Moggy to wear the Sonichu Medallion? I really, really want to see him start his lolcow arc. He has the potential!

Biography:

I am not a career politician. I am a registered mental health nurse working for the NHS and you may have heard this before, but… I have a dream. I dream of a world where individuals feel empowered to succeed and where that hard work pays off. Where we have freedom of speech without offense or persecution. Now I believe that dream is achievable, but this is where I need your help.

Many of you may; or may not be familiar with me as a town councillor in Hetton Town Council. Where I help to support the local community in dealing with the issues raised. Or as my role earlier as a nurse within the NHS. However, I am also your candidate in the upcoming general election with Reform UK.

My journey did not start there. I ran for youth parliament at an early age and sat on many youth committees as I grew up in the small village within the town of Houghton-le-Spring. I was raised with values and under the dogma of Labour policies in which I felt was the backbone of the community; or as I soon came to realise was the disease of our area.

Keeping my morals and my dignity, I joined Reform UK. With Reform, I have found my home. I have joined a community in which I feel supported. I share my story so that you may find your home too. It may not be with Reform, but there will always be support here for you too.

Pink Floyd released the album “The Wall” in 1982 about being tormented at school by tyrannical, abusive teachers. The wall to me, is a depiction of the Labour “Red Wall” and as with all political walls, needs to fall. We need to celebrate diversity in choice, not only in the protected characteristics but within the belief of politics. I am not another brick in the wall, and neither are you.

My hope is to remind the world that justice, fairness, and freedom are more than just words—they are perspectives. These words that can offer the means to meaning and for those that will listen, the enunciation of truth. Bring back democracy; I do this for my family, I do this for my friends.

That is embarrassing, not one word about policy. Wonder how well they could have done in Sunderland South if they had a none tard. Because 11k second place with someone like that is a achievement.

Just curious, was there a reason why Sunak called the election knowing his party would be wrecked? Not that the British Tories will be any different than Labour but still.

In Canada, Trudeau's Liberals are expected to be destroyed in the next election but I don't see him calling an election to get destroyed faster

I suspect that the plan for the last few weeks has been to merge the two parties shortly after the election, once the left wing Tories have all lost their seats. It might be a tough one to negotiate though since Nige will want to be leader & that might not be something the remaining Tories go for. Maybe chucking a peerage his way will satisfy him.
With FPTP I'm not sure that really makes sense. Add all the Reform votes to all the Tory votes and you'd have had far more seats for them in aggregate. But add 13 seats (predicted) from Reform to the Tory ones and it doesn't do much to change the balance of power.

Maybe I'm high on copium but I think she might actually be the best hope for the future. She seems pretty smart and knows how to play the political game, and like you say the lefties can't just call her a racist to 'win' every debate. It's sort of funny that the new, "far-right" Tories will be choosing from 3 nonwhite women to lead them.
I don't think you're high on copium. She's quite popular and for good reason that unlike most of the Tory leadership she actually has evidence of principles and belief. She ripped someone a new one a couple of years back for making comments about how she should be acting based on her skin colour. And good for her.

I hear what you're saying about it being "sort of funny" but that's really based more on the negative media created perception of us on the right than the reality. We have always had far fewer actual racists than they try to make us look. Sexism too. The Right really are more meritocratic. That's why Labour have had more women in their party historically but the only party where women have actually claimed the top spots is the Conservatives. Because on the Right we wont give you special treatment because you're _____________ identity but for the most part if you're good, we put that as more important than any arbitrary characteristics. In their way, the Left have always been more sexist and racist than the Right. An older person told me that in his office when Thatcher became leader of the Conservatives all the Labour members (of which their were many) were celebrating because they believed there was no way a woman would become Prime Minister. In Germany, Alice Weidel is the leader of the AfD. Woman, lesbian. The Left keep trying to bait the Right with "oh but look - her partner is an immigrant woman of colour, aren't you hypocritical". And it never works because we just go "her partner came in legally and has a good job and career, where's the hypocrisy?" They think it's hypocritical because they believe their own views of us. Her name temporarily escapes me but Serbia had a very right wing female leader, also.

Most of us don't care what skin colour Kemi Badenoch has. Look in this thread? Who is the one person who criticized her for it? The Labour supporter who calls her a race traitor "coconut". Every fucking time!

Sorry, rant over. :)

First seat labour, Reform got second.
In many ways, who gets lots of second places matters the most. They show areas where they have the best chance of flipping it next time. If Reform do get 13 seats (not guaranteed) then that's significantly better than they were predicted last week. But if they get a wave of second places, that's really going to scare the political analysts.

They were in free fall. If he'd waited it out til Jan it would have been a bigger blood bath.

Same reason as Macron in France. Saw the writing on the wall and thought they could cut their losses before things tipped too far against them. And like Macron, he was wrong.

My own personal conspiracy theory is that he called a surprise election 2 days after Klaus Schwab announced he was retiring for the earliest possible date because he wanted to pitch for his job.

Though personally I wouldn't give Sunak a job at Gregg's.

He was never keeping his job from the second he took it. Just a terrible choice for leader.

They paid for a lot of the shit to do with the cost of living, the lock down parties etc but a better leader wouldn't have gone down like thos and might have at least got a hung parliament out of it.
