Laplace seems to be in pretty big trouble, the floodwaters there are extremely high apparently. Pretty disconcerting to think of all these people putting out pleas for help on Twitter since emergency services aren't operating
Jesus fucking christ I hope someone can help these people. Fuck, this is horrifying :(

googling these address would indicate a levy failed somewhere in the Kenner/ Laplace area

I hope it finishes the job that Katrina failed to do. Don't leave enough niggers to ruin another city like Houston please.

The night is still young but so far NOLA is holding up. Theres flooding and shit but nothing that would indicate a Katrina happening....the suburban areas to the west however seemed to have gotten the rake

I love how they cut it as quickly as possible

Like they want to make the shot so dramatic the truth be damned

I dont doubt the winds are not bad but damn dude it aint the apocalypse you can go outside and make funny faces or throw trash in the air to see how far it flies. Gotta have some fun.

the reporter explained that the wind in the streets is different than the wind behind buildings. its not an anderson cooper moment.

maybe theres a huge wind turbine off camera.

Did something happen to Chicago & Midwest Stormchasers? I leave off obsessing about this stuff for a minute and I hear that an idiot is stranded.

NOLA is doing alright. LaPlace and Houma, on the other hand…
You arn't going to get power back for a loooong time.

Your WWL am 870Khz radio station is saying that line was a vital circuit that fed the NOLA substation. 100% out now. Hopefully you have a battery powered radio to listen. With no power I wouldn't expect the cell network to stay up long.
Also in case you missed it don't drink the water with out boiling 1st. Low pressure and broken lines poz'ing that stuff all up.

okay a Kiwi with more knowlege of the electrical grid and shit can correct me but...

isn't it an absurdly bad idea to have a singular point of failure in something this important?

It’s more common than you think especially for big ones.
And even if there are two they both get hit by the same hurricane.

Ive marked all the cries for help, many claiming to be in the attic

Something bad happened here. A levee or pump failed

Why do they not have generators at their pump stations?
Why do they have a completely inconstant levy system?
Why do they have a shit 911 system?
Why do they not have a hardened P25 radio system that can deal with bad weather?
Why did they not evacuate and reverse flow the highways?
Its because the place is run by niggers.
We only gave NOLA billions after Katrina. Where did it all go? No one knows.

The hurricane was bad. Its the incompetence and corruption at every level that will make this a nighmare that will drag on for months.
