God it's great how much hilarity I'm getting out their media strategy right now. They're throwing everything at the wall in an attempt to get some - any - political traction, but nothing is sticking; the constant Twitter barrage has already become literal white noise due to its repetition; the daily press briefings have done little except irritate a media apparatus desperate for viewer-attracting headlines; and these totally personal not intended to be Roosevelt fireside chat townhalls show exactly why Biden's appearances are strongly controlled and scripted - because he always fucks them up.
Blue checkmarks and the average media "journalist" may slobber all over the spiel, but it's clearly not translating to favourable numbers in their internal polling or focus testing. If it was you wouldn't have Schumer pushing Senate votes he knows will fail, Pelosi going ahead with the House commission to keep 1/6 alive, or the seemingly impulsive speeches on election integrity and the like: they're desperate for a distraction from the likes of inflation and recent pandemic misses.
