You know, a couple weeks ago, I asked who it was that Jon could be possibly addressing his DA journals to. It's obvious that no one responds to them, though he writes as if he has loyal followers. Then I realized something, something that most of y'all probably already figured out: Jon isn't addressing anyone. He's just trying to soothe his ego.
He desperately craves attention, however, he desperately fears confrontation. Jon knows that if he should come to these forums and challenge us, we will send him packing with a stinging posterior. That happened twice, and then we showed up at his 'oasis' and tore it up. Jon lost, then he lost, then he lost. The internet is probably the only place in the world where he feels he can have some sense of power, and we trashed that. It doesn't sit well with him, so he retreated back to his DA journals.
Every time that he's mentioned us on DA, it's almost always been to redress a wound he received here or on AJM.
@Dr. Merkwurdichliebe had made his claims
months ago, and Jon brought them up recently. Someone pointed out the stupidity of the name Tin Boo Tee, and Jon changed it
to our satisfaction. What we're seeing with these journal entries is not announcement that his fans want to read. He doesn't have fans. What we're seeing is Jon trying to deal emotionally with the ass-kicking we put him through. Whenever he brings us up, he's trying to get the last word. That's why he's gone back to the whole "showered with gifts" and "I had a girlfriend" delusion. There's no one to challenge him there.
The problem is is that we got to him. Even on his journals, he has to rationalize his past because of our influence. The whole "I was happier in college" thing is an example of that. "If this and this didn't happen, I'd have been fine." Nope. He has to go back that far and re-wire things (according to the exact same faulty plan as before) because he can't escape reality. But it's not enough to merely break his finger jamming the reset button; Jon has to rely on other logical fallacies as well.
Well, that's your fault, isn't it? That's all on you, buddy. Unlike Chris, I don't scare easily, and I'm not going to quit. This comic is here to stay. It's this caliber of work which will eventually help rebuild my life the way it used to be. And that scares you, doesn't it? Oh, yes, I think so. You whimper in fear at the thought that soon the people will run to embrace me, just as they did nearly 20 years ago in my newspaperman days... loved, free, and respected, my fans constantly laying gifts at my doorstep.
So, what we got here is Jon claiming his bravery and daring attitude, while blaming us for his cowardly run from the forum. He in fact
does scare easily, and whined about us showing up on AJM, making a bunch of empty declarations there as well. The very fact that he doesn't post here is evidence that he's a lily-liver. His indictment of "that's
your fault" and "That's all on
you, buddy," is merely another way of saying, "You beat me." He's angry that we beat him, and is blaming us for beating him. Hm.
"I'm
not going to quit. This comic is here to
stay." Of course, no one said that he should stop making the comic. That's the great thing about strawmen, they don't fight back.
"And that
scares you, doesn't it? Oh, yes, I think so. You whimper in fear..." This is projection. Jon is powerless and fearful. Now that he's in a relatively safe spot (for the time being), he gets to paint us as being fearful of him, despite the fact that he had actually admitted defeat to us a couple of times, changed his tune quickly after threatening The Ice Cream Man, lives in terror of abuse by his
younger brother, and, as has been said, won't face us directly here.
Words. All Sweet has is words. There is no power in them, so he tries to use them as a salve. With all the butthurt we've seen in those journals, it's obvious that their healing properties are not working.
