I totally remember all those times Trump was on TV telling everyone to tighten their belts because we're staying closed until we find a reliable vaccine for the thing

Oh wait no. It was Trump saying we gotta reopen everything and everyone telling him no. And the Dem Governors and Mayors keeping everything shut down and waiting for a "reliable vaccine" to appear so they can open everything up.

Yet they’ll still blame unemployment on Trump entirely despite him having little control over what governors and mayors can do. With how things are in California, I expect a riot or two this summer after too many people lose their jobs and go through their savings. It’s like these people want Trump to have more power over state and local politics (which is a terrible precedent to start).

Wish they'd at least be honest that they believed coronavirus would go away if their fantasy version of lockdowns had been done. Instead they say life could have gone back to 'normal', a nice vague term that doesn't require them to explain what the end goal was.
Their idea of Normal involves Trump being in a prison cell and Dems in perpetual power.

They don't think beyond the current administration given they've done this for the past couple of presidencies. Filibustering? Let's remove it. Oh no we fucked up and now the courts are stuffed with Trump appointees. Listen and believe? Oh god look at all of our boys and girls getting called out for rape, let's sweep that and gaslight them now.

They don't fucking think, and Cocaine Mitch even warned them on that shit.

The Democrats USED to be patient.

Then the "instant gratification" generations (X, Millenial, Zoomers) all started getting involved.

Instead of "We'll start at a city and county level and build our way up" it's POTUS AND SCOTUS AND HOUSE AND SENATE NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW! because they can't delay gratification and they really don't understand Civics any longer. The Department of Education, after Carter, phased out Civics, Home-Ec, and other programs, leaving people completely reliable on other people without understanding how the machine works any more.

To them, whoever has the House and Senate and POTUS completely controls reality and the entire country. They don't understand, in reality, how government works, or why Nancy Pelosi can't just wave her denture cream and automatically have the Stasi haul off Trump to Double Secret Orangeman Jail.

It’s all really stupid because if they don’t like the law being used in the opposing side’s favor, it means they should think twice about implementing it. Harry Reid did that before having Mitch McConnell take over, so now those laws are being used against the Democrats.

I was saying that Democrats are patient.

Gotta stop right there

They were calling for impeachment as the VOTES WERE BEING FINALIZED ON ELECTION NIGHT.

Patience is not a word they know... as far as they're concerned, large chunks of this nation are obsolete, HAVE been obsolete since the early 90's at best, should have died off YEARS ago and they resent to their very core the fact that red middle America still hanging around and voting.

W
hich is why they've tried as hard as they have to change the laws and rules, establish court precedents for social justice and invoke cancel culture in the media with so much ferocity.

It's so that people who are too behind-the-times don't delay the utopia of fully-automated luxury space liberalism any longer.... they must be brushed aside, NOW.

Don't mistake the slow pace of even expedited bureaucracy to accomplish this for patience. They HATE the slow but inexorable grind of justice and would prefer activist Judges and social media vigilantism to get it done NOW.

Someone sure they really were on the right side of history and confident they could just wait out the opposition wouldn't behave the way the dems have since 2016 and put the cart before the horse on EVERY move they made. And consequently fail spectacularly when the pre-determined narrative of "We win" couldn't be constructed ex-post-facto from bits and pieces of rumor and ideological screeching like a bin of Lego.

It would actually be funny if it didn’t sound so pathetic.
I guess he doesn't want to mention how Trump forced twitter to unshadow censor a hashtag that at least tripled Obeme's likefest in terms of numbers.

Or how Twitter is worthless due to it being a multinational publisher that caters to less people than Chunk Yogurt did proportion wise.

Saw some odd speculation about the Sullivan/Flynn mess.

Watching Sullivan suddenly take this tack is very odd. This is the same guy who straight up threw out the Ted Stevens charges and told the DOJ prosecutors to attend ethics training classes. Why demand someone argue for the prosecution?

Because he is out to get Flynn.

People are misinformed about what happened with Ted Stevens; the story of Sullivan being a just judge there is a lie.

Here is the part people leave out: Sullivan refused to throw out the Stevens case when it was revealed that DoJ prosecutors hid Brady evidence, allowing the guilty verdict that cost Stevens a re-election bid. Sound familiar? The Flynn case was at one point all about hiding Brady evidence, as @It's HK-47 helpfully told us. HK's error was in entertaining the possibility that Sullivan was being fair, because while he is informative he is also somewhat over-optimistic. No, Sullivan was never going to toss out the case due to Brady evidence being withheld, the point was to make it as procedurally clean as possible to stymie appeals.

After the damage to Stevens was done, Sullivan saw no harm in dismissing the conviction when more of the DoJ's corruption became public.

People like to mention that Sullivan held four prosecutors for the Stevens case in contempt. What they don't mention or were not told is that those charges were all dismissed by Sullivan as soon as the DoJ cleared its own prosecutors of egregious misconduct.

The game was rigged from the start. Van Grack might have been held in contempt to give the appearance of impartiality, but any such charges would probably be dismissed as soon as the heat died down.

The thing that really puts a smile on my face is that the media sycophants don't get any heads up about any of this shit so that they can prep the narrative change anymore. Bill sealed up all the leaks and now they find out about everything at the same time as us unenlightened peasants. And you can really tell they aren't too used to being put on the back foot.

I'd like to stop your speg session right here and call bullshit. There is no way you had any idea that they were pushing 'its okay to be different'. It was a fucking cartoon. You turned it on, watched it and went about your day after that.

Fire up Netflix and log into a kids account. Every cartoon is with different colored people/monsters/cats/dogs/whatever. That idea is still being pushed in kids cartoons.

X-men TAS was the Harry Potter of the 90s, kids who watched it were markedly more accepting of 'different' people, and it wasn't subtle at all. It was just smart enough to never directly draw a line from mutants to 'oppressed minority of the day'. It let the kids do that for themselves. Kids cartoons definitely still got super preachy, but it never went much deeper than racism and environmentalism. I know, because I always got annoyed by how children show casts were 'rainbow' every time.

#OBAMAGATE, boasting over 2 million tweets has suddenly been removed from trending, and replaced with #ObamGate.
Just the algorithm at work, nothing to see here, clearly not artificially manipulated.

#Obamagate has been removed from my Twitter trending page entirely. I remember @Allanon having something of an explanation for this kind of thing, where multi-million tweet trends suddenly disappear.

Late, but this is totally normal for Twitter. Everything to do with #obamagate was, actually.

1 - #obamagate started trending organically, and then it turned into a lot of the same people or groups of people talking about it, so it no longer qualified as 'trending' - to Twitter, 'trending' doesnt' = 'lots of people are talking about it' but 'lots of people are spontaneously talking about something new', very similar to youtube trending (it keeps really common phrases and stuff from trending, and ALLEGEDLY slows down trendbots)

2 - #obamgate trends instead because, while it has way less tweets, a bunch of people typo the trend, and Twitter recognizes it as a unique trend. People who force things to trend know this is how twitter works, and that's why you see lots of lame political crap with typos in them, so they can take up multiple trending spots and force it to continue to trend when it would normally fall off. (this is why the fake LGBT trend is different every sunday, too)

3 - When Trump tweeted out highlighting this, a whole lot of people who didn't pay attention to the trend in the past or bother tweeting it suddenly started tweeting (because way more people pay attention to the POTUS than the trends), causing the trend to jump up again and stay up for a long time as a lot of new people kept talking about it

4 - As it expanded, people started dropping the #, either because they were talking about it casually or because they were trying to avoid it trending, but Twitter also looks at phrases, not just hashtags. Thus, it shifted the trend to include both the mentions of obamagate with and without the #, that's what the "obamagate" trend means - it's how you search for something that's not a # in tweets

5 - they definitely kept trying to sabotage and manipulate it by tying it in with hit pieces, but obviously that just got more people to tweet about it, making it trend longer. Likely it's too much of a pain to tinker with their algorythm to 'disappear' trends, so they try to undermine them by hooking them up to things like the news pieces and stuff. Youtube does that kind of thing, too.

6 - Eventually, even though people are still talking about Obamagate, new people aren't talking about it in an appreciable amount, so the trend drops off. Some other stuff is 'new' to Twitter, and they trend instead.

If you want Obamagate to trend again, just change it to #Obamaswatergate or something, and then get a bunch of people currently in #obamagate to tweet using exclusively #obamaswatergate instead. No other hashtags, no repeating of the hashtag. Basic and simple. It's how they trend 500 million TDS trends every day.

I remember it trended today as #ObamaGREAT and it was just cult-like worship of Obama
