There’s nothing yet that really justifies it being an mmo. It has 2p co-op, but that could easily be peer2peer. It’s planning to have raids, but that could be managed by a smaller server. They argue a server is more hack-proof, but that’s hardly enough to stop people.Okay, from how you’re describing it this sorta just sounds like a linear game? Where exactly do the MMO components come in? I assume you can battle/trade in the overworld, but are there ANY other benefits to this game actually being an MMO with all players inhabiting the same world?
If not, it seems like a massive waste of resources since they could have just made one specific AREA all players can connect to, like in SWSh.
There’s not even a chat function yet. Hell, they only just implemented a function to let people know when the servers are going down.
The reason it’s an mmo is to be ‘the Pokémon that fans want’. Never mind that the Pokemon the fans want is a mess of different requirements that don't add up to a cohesive whole, and include everything from very specific requests about rival behaviour to very ludicrous ones.
