Out of curiosity, what are your friend's saying about this movie? I'm seeing a ton of shills claim "If GOTG and Black Panther was unknown, SURELY Captain Marvel will be successful like them!"

Black Panther's success isn't something that's ever going to be replicated. You had schools busing entire classes to see that thing in theaters. Ain't nobody doing that for Captain Marvel.

^Exactly. Wonder Woman stole its thunder, and no matter what the Disney / Marvel shills say, the "feminism" angle cannot be replicated.

At the most I see rainbow-haired white cat lady feminists making a big fuzz out of this movie, tho, it seems right up their alley. They always defend woke shit that stars spoiled white women being badassssss over anything truly good.

Felt I should make an opportunity to mention Jeremy Conrad. This guy is a massive MCU/Disney shill and lately has been trying to defend Captain Marvel from the ebil sexists. People like this I swear are just lying so they can get kudos from Disney and he's assuming people don't want it because "Female superhero" ignoring the legit complaints that Brie Larson sucks.

Never underestimate how much the Mouse marketing will inflate the movie's importance. Everyone this time last year thought Black Panther would wind up being forgettable and overshadowed by Infinity War, and while that might've been true for capeshit fans, it was absolutely not the case with the general public.

You can expect in eight weeks or so to hear about how you're a bad person for not seeing this movie, repeated ad nauseum over social media and from most film critics.

The...General Public still remember that movie? You got evidence of that? And overshadowed Infinity War? Pfffffffttttt, hell no.

I only see people talk about it when a controversy shows up and the Golden Globes recently.

The film itself was AMAZINGLY average and boring tbh.

Its amazing that we are still having this "If you don't like movies with a female lead, then you're a bigot" crap when Wonder Woman did as well as it did.

Maybe the problem isn't the female lead concept, but rather that it just doesn't look good...I dunno, call me crazy.

Oh, also, Creed II >>>>>>> Black Panther. Just saying. Where's that movie's award praise?

It made 1.3 billion, and more than half of that was USA so this isn't a case of China saving a terrible movie. It actually out-grossed Infinity War inside the USA. Like I said, entire southern Baptist churches bussed their congregation to see it multiple times because Hollywood told them this was the first time a black man was a superhero. If you mention the film was, at best, a thoroughly average superhero flick with sub-par CGI you get branded a racist. Absolutely it eclipsed Infinity War in terms of the media shilling it and the endless fucking controversies over the movie because Disney realized pandering to the woke crowd gets them good press.

To repurpose a common phrase, I wish I could forget about Black Panther but Hollywood won't let me.

And there's your reason for the good box office.

And tbh that movie is partially the reason I don't want to watch anymore MCU movies after Endgame. Especially if they are doing the "You are a evil monster if you don't like it" method of gaslighting critics.

I saw people memeing the crap out of Infinity War for ages. Black Panther was like talked about for a month or two and now it's just the occasional controversy.

So what other supehero can the mouse do the woke marketing crap? The only one that comes to mind is Miss Marvel (the muslim girl), really, since they don't have any prominent asian or hispanic superheroes that I can think of. Unless they racebend some and that's a whole new can of worms.

They're about to acquire a whole host of X-Men characters that they can woke market, especially since themes of isolation and minority status have been core to the entire concept of the x-Men since their inception.

What a bunch of you need to realize is all it takes is a few butthurt vocal spergs, getting all mad that out of dozens of superhero movies, this one has a girl character and some light feminist themes... going on a tard e-rampage... then it gets reported that evil incels hate this movie... and it's the perfect publicity to get people to want to see this movie now.

Man, why doesn't Wesley Snipes speak up and remind people of Blade?

...Ghostbusters 2016 was a massive success then.

No really. I sincerely think people have amnesia but aside from Black Panther (sorta?), and Wonder Woman if you want to stretch it (which both had decent trailers), woke film making for the most part tends to fail.

And that doesn't include smaller independent movies that don't need high earnings such as Get Out for instance. Get Out was actually a decent movie though on it's own merits.

And even if they did, I've seen charter busses for madea movies here, and Tyler Perry ain't grossing near black panther numbers

It was rewatches too.

Also I have a feeling things are gonna start to get nutty since the tickets have gone on sale. Jeremy Conrad has already said they are "selling out". Keep in mind he said the same about Solo.

Not saying it will bomb, just that reports like that are usually bullshit or half truths.

I feel Captain Marvel is just going to have a mediocre showing at the Box Office akin to the first Ant Man and more of the middle of the road MCU movies.
