Mae Whitman would unironically be better cast/more charismatic in this role than the weird tough grrl stereotype Brie Larson seems to be going for.

Out of curiosity, what are your friend's saying about this movie? I'm seeing a ton of shills claim "If GOTG and Black Panther was unknown, SURELY Captain Marvel will be successful like them!"
^Exactly. Wonder Woman stole its thunder, and no matter what the Disney / Marvel shills say, the "feminism" angle cannot be replicated.
At the most I see rainbow-haired white cat lady feminists making a big fuzz out of this movie, tho, it seems right up their alley. They always defend woke shit that stars spoiled white women being badassssss over anything truly good.
Never underestimate how much the Mouse marketing will inflate the movie's importance. Everyone this time last year thought Black Panther would wind up being forgettable and overshadowed by Infinity War, and while that might've been true for capeshit fans, it was absolutely not the case with the general public.
You can expect in eight weeks or so to hear about how you're a bad person for not seeing this movie, repeated ad nauseum over social media and from most film critics.
The...General Public still remember that movie? You got evidence of that? And overshadowed Infinity War? Pfffffffttttt, hell no.
I only see people talk about it when a controversy shows up and the Golden Globes recently.
The film itself was AMAZINGLY average and boring tbh.
Like I said, entire southern Baptist churches bussed their congregation to see it multiple times because Hollywood told them this was the first time a black man was a superhero
Absolutely it eclipsed Infinity War in terms of the media shilling it and the endless fucking controversies over the movie because Disney realized pandering to the woke crowd gets them good press.
So what other supehero can the mouse do the woke marketing crap? The only one that comes to mind is Miss Marvel (the muslim girl), really, since they don't have any prominent asian or hispanic superheroes that I can think of. Unless they racebend some and that's a whole new can of worms.

Or Will Smith with Hancock? And that one wasn't a Marvel or DC property.Man, why doesn't Wesley Snipes speak up and remind people of Blade?
What a bunch of you need to realize is all it takes is a few butthurt vocal spergs, getting all mad that out of dozens of superhero movies, this one has a girl character and some light feminist themes... going on a tard e-rampage... then it gets reported that evil incels hate this movie... and it's the perfect publicity to get people to want to see this movie now.

And even if they did, I've seen charter busses for madea movies here, and Tyler Perry ain't grossing near black panther numbersI am often amazed at the stuff white people believe.
