One of the people thanked due to assisting during Claire’s death in the FB announcement was a RN that was on duty at their home at the time. Not cheap to have an RN on duty at your house.
Claire and Lola, esp at night, would be plum work for a nurse. They are small, no weight, they can’t move, tube or bottle feedings and don’t even cry. Basically it’s just watching monitors all night with an occasional feeding and diaper. Even easier and less demanding than caring for a normal newborn because no crying - and newborns are a piece of cake for experienced nurses. Compared to being at a hospital on your feet all night with 12 patients it’s a dream job, that’s why their nursing staff stayed on so long. It doesn’t get much easier than potato farming for an RN, esp night duty so mom isn’t breathing down their neck.
A teenage male, if he is of average size, would be much more difficult for one person to deal with. Dealing with 120 lbs plus of dead weight is hard fucking work. The lifting alone for bathing, transfers and diapering would be very difficult. Daytime duty esp would be the worst since you have mom watching, three meals being fed and therefore at least five diapers plus transfers and dressing. I’m sure she does have problems with keeping staff esp if she wants nurses, not just a aide. (She’d be better off training a guy with a strong back and needing steady work then trying to get LPN or RNs to stick around. Nurses have plenty of better job options.)
