EA will never go bankrupt thanks to FIFA. Holy fucking shit there are so many dumb eurotrash whales who pour their entire salary into cardpacks.

But eventually I think that's all EA ever will be. Sports Games, Battlefield and mobile and that's basically it. No more big expensive products, just dopamine stimulators to get the most out of degenerate gamblers. That's where they were heading anyway.

I fully expect Anthem's release will be the thing that leads EA to take Bioware out behind the shed and put it out of its misery, and after that the only studio that isn't EA branded in some fashion will be Criterion, who make racing games. So we're pretty close to that eventuality as it is.

They'll never stop embarrising themselves trying to be more than that. Everything else they do can usually be traced to a pathetic mimicry of someone else's cash cows and they'll never stop trying to created another FIFA yearly injection of cash for fuck all effort.

Of course. Just fucking do it already EA. We know you want to. You aren't fucking kidding anybody but yourselves. Same with Blizzard-Activision. Blizzard is eventually just going to be a hollowed out shell to churn out franchises and Activision producing a Call of Duty game. While going mobile like EA.

People who buy shit in mobile games are so fucking dumb, I swear. They're really, really fucking stupid. How do you even find that shit fun? Its like a slot machine that doesn't give you money. I understand sports fans are stupid gullible motherfuckers who love to shell out massive amounts of money for shit that should basically be free. But mobile? That's just a fucking dopamine high. Eat a piece of chocolate or watch a funny video or some shit.

And publishers need to stop trying to make mobile work on other platforms. It won't. People who play actual games that aren't designed entirely around monetization are never going to accept your $60 + microtransaction shithole. Stop. Rockstar got really fucking lucky with GTA V and monetization and that was because it was a good game to begin with. Either develop a free to play hamster wheel or a. You can't do both you greedy faggots. Actually they can't do either because this entire industry lost their balls and really doesn't care about making good games, only building experiences around fucking nickle and diming you to death.

God, I hope the gaming market crashes and fucking burns. Let the FTC ban loot boxes. Fuck these cunts. Burn their mobile monetization scheme to the fucking ground. And Western developers are puzzled why people are leaving them in droves.

I still have no idea why DICE agreed to let EA buy them. I remember when Battlefield was the best cross between realism and gameplay.

Now we have Ciri prosthetic arming her way through a war she historically never fought in while soyboys preen about diversity in a historical shooter.

I'm going to play Warframe instead and put the money that wild have gone into Battlefield into DE's pockets instead. There's a Prime Access pack and it looks lovely.

From games like Battlefield 1942, Bad Company 1 and 2, and Battlefield 3 and now into shitheap of a game now, EA sure does love destroying everything they touch.

So many years have passed and I'm still not over the brutal murder of Command & Conquer and the desecration of its corpse.

Oh my God. Are they trying to drive people away from the game now? This is like that ironic joke marketing executive that has no fucking idea what people they are marketing to. "Me and my buddies love Trevor Noah and Amanda Cernys twitter vines! Lets hire them to promote Battlefield!" Jesus fucking christ.

These are people who simply hate their audience. They'd like to have a virtue signaling circle jerk with the California progressive crowd but who they actually got are a mix of normal people and 14 year old edgelords. It's amazing that corporate still hasn't pulled the plug after all these disasters.

There goes the abbo market.

Not that there was much of one to begin with...

If there's any take away from the shitstorm surrounding this game, it's that no developer should mistreat their fans.

Don't go into making a game with the mindset of wanting to intentionally piss your fans off, don't act abrasive if they find some of your design decisions questionable (and believe me, pushing that amputee female soldier as a mascot is very questionable), don't dismiss them as "uneducated" or "bigots", don't treat them with condescending contempt, and don't tell them "don't like it, don't buy it" when they express concerns.

I'm not saying that they should be treated like gods, but for God's sake don't treat them like a pile of dogshit.

Apparently they've dropped the ball on all fronts now. DICE recently introduced a kind of balance patch that supposedly fucked up the core meta of the game because they thought the harshness of the meta was driving away new players right weeks before DICE is going to roll out cosmetics-based microtransactions, which will be used to recoup their lower than predicted unit sales. However, data harvesting and the general opinion of the franchise's diehard fans suggest that the core meta was actually not broken at all, and it was actually a long list of post-release gameplay and netcode bugs that was driving away new players.

So this patch has effectively driven off the diehard fans by breaking a perfectly good meta that they liked, without fixing any of the actual gamebreaking bugs that are driving away new players.

Let's blame gamers for our bugs and shitty quality control releasing a fix who destroy the meta and sunk the game ever more :stress:
Continue diggin DICE,your grave is still not deep enough :story:

Activision producing a Call of Duty game.
It's amazing how Activision has managed to live that long based solely on just producing Call of Duty and Skylanders, say what you'll want about the company but they damn well know to keep the tugboat running for 10 plus years and give two shits about the what the consumers want unlike EA pathetically trying to appeal to various demographics like what they did with Battlefield 5.

When everyone thought that Infinite Warfare was going to be the end of Cawadoody and WW2 not doing at all well (which by COD standards it's nothing) they're right here still breaking sales records with Black Ops IV. The only reason why Battlefield 1 sold well was because of the abysmal trailer of Infinite Warfare and people getting tired of the sci fi and modern setting, that's it. If COD made WW2 the same time as Battlefield 1, people would have chosen that over BF1 because of the WW1 setting. DICE got lucky their competition royally screwed up that one time.

Are you sure that BF1 sold well? The playerbase seem to have died quickly.

The sad thing is this isn't the only case where this is happening. We've also seen this happen with Blizzard recently with the Diablo Immortal reveal. And we're also seeing this outside of video games, like Ghostbusters 2016. More and more, creators are expressing contempt for their audiences which is concerning to me.

I think part of this has to do with social media, because now it's a lot easier for developers and gamers to communicate through sites like Twitter. And like any responsible consumer, some dissatisfied gamers are gonna complain. The venomous responses from developers suggest to me that they don't appreciate hearing criticisms of their precious work. What we're seeing here is a breakdown of trust brought on by increased means of communication, as well as showing that many creators tend to be rather thin-skinned.

Battlefield 5's failure is interesting because at this stage it's become just another product that cut its nose off to spite its face. At this point, this sort of thing has become routine, which just shows how fucked the relationship between consumers and creators are in this age of social media.

You see a mistreated gamer audience; the mainstream sees pandering to those who play games but don't subscribe to the gamerness.

"Gamer" as a description is slowly dying out because digital entertainment is becoming so mainstream, despite more or less having been so forever. You talk to any black dude between age 30 and 45, and he played FIFA or another ghetto-approved franchise like Dragonball. It's simply becoming more normal with how Vine and Netflix made it cool to be what would describe a nerd 15 years ago. Likewise, it's natural that "out of touch" PR people would sort Instagram by popularity and email the first 20.

Disregard your past; who does this hurt, and who does it include? Catering to women wouldn't matter shit if it wasn't because Stacy is slowly opening her eyes for cute games like Spyro and Smash and buying her first console. Now imagine if she while drooling Chad's morning milk saw her favorite IG personality shill a game as being her omgosh fav, like as well. I read somewhere that more than 2/3 of games being played are on smartphones. We're basically a minority in caring about games to this extent, and had gaming been any less popular 15 years ago, we'd be equally autistic as people who collect Furbies today.

EA of all companies can't fail over this, and including a woman as a token expression in Ass Creed Odyssey probably won over more women than men were lost in this BF:V controversy. They used women in live action promotions for Odyssey and people ate it up. Once they learn to properly pander to women and minorities, "gamers" are done for.

Real question - does anyone even like Trevor Noah? I never see or hear anyone talk about the Daily Show anymore and I know the show's ratings have fallen considerably.
