I'd disagree. The tumblr way of looking at things is that sexual attraction and romantic attraction are two different beasts, often linked but not always the same as each other. Heterosexual, homosexual etc are words referring to sexual attraction, but aromantic refers to romantic attraction. I can attest firsthand that sometimes there is a disconnect - my second boyfriend hated sex but loved me.

It's been done. He is a diagnosed sociopath (he tells people he is 'on the autism spectrum') who rejects everyone else's reality and substitutes his own.
 
Why would anyone identify with Anubis? Sure, he's cool, but the Egyptians had hundreds of gods to pick from and deciding you're Anubis just screams "I learned my history from The Mummy Returns." Get some Set or Anhur up in here. Ammit and Neith were badass too, if you want to be a goddess.

This reminds me of those House Kheperu folks, though. (Michelle Belanger's group.) They claim to be some sort of reincarnated ancient Egyptian priest psychic vampire ... thingie. I tried browsing their website, but got a bit lost in all the stuff about mental energy. Are they technically Otherkin, or just weird? I think Belanger claims to be a vampire.

Well, at first he was just 'having dreams' about it, and he described the 'death god'...but he described Ammit's physical depiction. Somewhere along the line, someone 'corrected' him and told him 'Anubis is the death god' and he googled everything he could about Anubis and...well, now he's where he is at now. He also believes that he is destined to be with Greek goddess Athena (because he thinks every pantheon coexists in harmony lol, even Christian God)...he is....he is a disheveled mess nowadays...heh.

Ammit wasn't the death god either, and was female to boot ... ah, shit, I need to stop trying to put logic in otherkin stuff. I hope he gets help!
 
I always like how otherkin are always choosing to identify with a "cool" (or cute), intelligent being, whether it's a dragon, a wolf, an edgy/dark character/person, etc. They're never like, George Costanza, cockroaches, blobfish, or Koalemos (the Greek god of stupidity).

At least that nucking futs girl who claimed to be a tortoise and liked to eat lettuce and crawl around on the floor was different and a little more interesting.
