*sigh* It's a tough one, man...

I was just listening to Bobby Kelly on Fitzsimmon's pod and he was backing the shit out of Louis CK, ditto for Joey Diaz. I've heard a few of the LA comics being incredibly wishy-washy about it and wanting Loiue to pulicly mea culpa and give money to women's charities and blah, blah, blah. But that's to be expected, they on the whole suck, sadly Little Jimmy is too much of a company man nowadays who seems to afraid of losing his radio gig by being controversial.

He really motherfucked him.

You know we live in a weird timeline when your feelings about Opie start to progressively get more positive as the years go by.

Chad Opie living off his millions, owning several nice real estates, with a beautiful wife and spoiled, normal kids, while Jimmy suicidebaits on IG and Anthony gets Jocktobered by the pests all year long. The only real victim here is Erock.

Literally all he had to do was not scream about niggers every waking moment of the day. He already had a basement podcast where he did that every other night and wasted a lot of his primary show -his main source of income- doing it.

He got lost.

Leave it to the Duke of New York to drop some truth bombs.

Ronnie B is the saddest casualty of the dead o and a radio channel. All he ever wanted was to talk shit on the radio with funny people, but he was surrounded by mentally unwell manchildren that all took turns dragging him down into their personal hells. there was nobody left to be funny with, just four deteriorating messes and Ron having to be their therapist. the last time he sounded really happy was when fez got hypnotised and went out in a blaze of opie bashing glory. Have you tried listening to a whole episode of Bennington recently? He's a broken man killing time til retirement.

Here's the bit discussed on O&A, you can find the full R&F show on YT.

I disagree, I think Ron is burdened by his loyalty to people like Anthony and Fezzie because Ron is real mensch. He's been through the ringer with Fez years ago, and he's going through the ringer with Anthony since 2014, and even in the 90s he was loyal to Ron Diaz while shit was collapsing, until it was time to move on and move to NYC. He's miserable now the same way he was miserable with Fez because he's looking at a person who has potential to be the best and yet time and time again they've squandered it either because of their mental illness or their ego (Anthony) - something Ron knows can be healed through some effort on the person's part, which is why it's so infuriating.

All he ever wanted was to talk shit on the radio with funny people, (...)

And he has, for 30+ years.

Ron's been doing radio all his life, he'll be 60 in December. He's found massive success in the 90s, then again in the 00s, and that shit's bound to taper off after 30+ years of radio. Doing Bennington with his kid and still raking in a decent chunk of change doesn't sound half bad, IMO. These aren't the Wackbag years anymore, same as O&A pests have become a relic. I can't get behind the old fans crying out about Bennington being different anymore.

That and radio is pretty much dead or dying at this point. Not trying to be a Captain Obvious or anything.

True I listen to The Bonfire and sometimes Jim & Sam but I do it on youtube and so do plenty of others, I've seen people in the comments say they listen to those shows there rather than on the official Sirius app because it's half broken. They both might as well be podcasts tbh.

You make a good point. There are thousands of hours of brilliant shows. Its easy to just focus on the decline, because it made for some fucking compelling radio, but it felt like a world that had existed for decades was imploding. Its still sad it had to all end the way it did.

The other episode that @Joe_Camel posted was when the whole staff got hypnotized, which was pretty great, but this one was literally fez's last hurrah. He got hypnotized at a live show and was back on his old top form. He spent a few years being an anxious mess, did this, then bowed out back on top. This was pretty much the beginning of Opies own mental breakdown. He got absolutely bodied by a big gay ball of anxiety and had no answer. Ronnie was loving it. It was fantastic.

If you would of told me several years ago that someone from Opie and Anthony would one day reach the threshold to be a lolcow, I would of laughed in your face if you told me it wasn't Opie.
