I’m not defending them barrelscraping kamikazi motherfuckers, but at least it follows a certain internal logic.
I gotcha I just can't see this beyond than a dumb fanboy pandering technique, especially since this is the same company that pulled a similar stunt with Silent Hill a couple years back when they made a lame ass top down dungeon crawler spinoff.
Which reminds me, the more I look at Metal Gear Survive, the more I have to say to myself "I never thought I'd get annoyed by the amount of fucking fog in a Konami game"

So that's where all the fog from Silent Hill HD went missing.

After a few missions in the second area this game drops two huge plot twists on you that are so ridiculous that they're amazing.

You find out the world you're in isn't another dimension, it's the future in the 22nd century and the monsters began as medical nanomachines that spun out of control and want to mindlessly propagate and connect with everything to the point where they use time travel to propagate and connect more, over and over again because they've already taken over everything in the future.

So it's like those goofy time travel/alternate universe what-if plots in the past games that were just non-canon weirdness for the hell of it made canon?

It's like if they took something from Snake Tales in MGS2 and made it a full game.

Also they've made it clear from the start this isn't canon at all.

Good. They already bastardized the concept of the series enough.

The secret ending is apperently your guy coming back to the 'present' but as a wandering soldier

Like the missing Mother Base guys you can find in MGSV? If so, no wonder they are so jumpy, they've seen some shit.

Yeah, pretty much my dude, even ends with you appearing beside one of the pictures of paz

Played the demo, pretty average, bog standard 3rd person shooter.

I don't have a dog in the fight of Konami vs Kojima. The amount of salt over this is pretty funny, though.

Well that was just downright sneaky.

Konami: LOOK AT US WASTE MONEY FUCK YOU KOJIMA

most people: wow this is retarded
other retarded people:
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Kojima: I like noodles

Konami: HA I WAS ONLY PRETENDING TO BE RETARDED I GOT YOU GUYS!!!

Both Kojami and Konima acted exceptional during the development of MGS 5 and David Hayter cries under his bed until this day.

So is this like an MMO where it's only online and they would pull the plug if there's a lack of interest like so many online games? I plan on buying it on sale, I'm only mildly upset at Konami.
