something seems fishy about this game. it went from culture warrior speds latest best game evaeer to this shit will suck in a week. it doesnt seem interesting like e33 did.

The people being ‘suspicious’ of this game are much weirder to me.
It’s either not going to deliver, which oh well, we’ve seen overly-ambitious games fail, it’s going to be middling, or it’s going to be a hit.

People are acting like once they start it up, there’s a chance it could play out like The Ring, and they die in seven days or something.

I'm kind of hoping it turns out a bit like the original Dragons Dogma. Something a bit TOO weird/different for most people but a really good core with some jank that ends up adding to the fun.

I am new to being aware of it, but the entire time I have, I’ve seen suspicions of it.
I think it’s a mix of:
  • people not trusting the game can look and run as well at it allegedly does; which is fair due to it being a custom engine,
  • Distrust in pearl abyss due to issues with Black Desert
  • A distrust of Korean games
  • The high amount of secrecy around the content
  • People who believe it’ll be a bait and switch with microtransactions

To be fair to the skeptical, it’s a completely unproven game from a studio known for ann action MMO and nothing else. An MMO infamous for PvP power creep. The footage shown is also a bunch of impressive expansive areas and crazy fighting game-like combos with very little about the story being shown and those allowed to have time with it haven’t been permitted to show much of anything.

Above all else, I think it’s people afraid to trust a huge big budget open world game after being burned so many god damn times and I really don’t blame them

hope its good and ill buy it when it reach 10 dollars. the fact they havent still shown console footage tells me they are doing jew shit ala cdpr with cp77

IGN with a tentative 6/10 (lol), Metacritic hovering in the 70s.

i've skimmed some of the 10/10 and 9/10 reviews (so far exclusively given by complete no name publications) and they basically all say the quests and story is complete dog shit and that this is a game you basically should only play for the exploration side of things (basically it's a Korean Bethesda game).

Has anyone commented on the loot and economy? From what I've seen the invintory is a very limited slot system. How about crafting?

First thing first, game journos are worthless faggots and nothing they say has any value. Their opinions are not something one should consider, ever.

I'll still wait for release and see what the consensus among gamers is, but I'm not holding my breath.
It's one of those games that's too hyped, feels too good to be true, and imo the biggest redflag is that gooks are behind it, which at the end of the day are a soulless insectoid race like the other chinkoids.

I'll go back to playing Iratus and Helldivers. Wake me up if this gook slop is actually any good.

Saw he mentioned not upgrading his gear and took points off cuz the game was hard

I've seen a few people that say it has good combat but bad controls and I'm just like ????????
I've seen someone say that too on X especially early game with no skills, but then liked it when they had skills that allowed them to cycle quickly through 5-6 weapons for a combo. So I don't know if it's one of those things where combat sucks at the start cause you're naked with really no skills or abilities till later when you actually get to do cool shit??

only full review I could find right now.

pretty much story sucks and early game sucks. but when you get some time into it to unlock things combat gets fun and the many systems are in depth? So I guess it's a slow burn rpg that's not an rpg??

I have class tomorrow night and since the damn thing doesn't unlock until like 4PM my time and I have no idea if there is a preload on Steam I'm just going to wait until Friday and see what more people say.

When the game releases if its good ill waait for a sale if its not good and its a buggy boring mess then ill just get the bravely default games on steam

I don't get the hate for Denuvo, never once has it actually made my games perform badly.

Would I prefer no DRM? absolutely, but that's not gonna happen for most games. But I also acknowledge for this game I paid nothing so I have zero expectations
People who are against it hear "I don't get the hate for spyware on my computer so long as it doesn't slow the game down", and it doesn't help resolve anything or settle the issue to anyone who cares about their computer as something more than a fancy xbox.

This is not normal anticheat. Putting a Ring 0 anticheat on your singleplayer game is unacceptable. It's like if you went to go drive balls at the driving range, but the Clubhouse wanted to put a shock collar on you, just in case.

The most benevolent reason for it would be to steal your data and sell it off to the highest bidder. The most malevolent was the idea that Enigma could provide an FSB (Russian government) backdoor onto your computer in wartime.

This is actually a much more serious issue than it's relationship to video games would betray.

My big concern with the game was that they were being extremely cagey about the story and characters/setting.

I'm definitely not saying that everygame needs to have a super in depth plot, I fucking love me some Dragon's Dogma. But no details at all had me concerned thst this would be a giant Ubisoft world with a bazillion map markers to clear with no goal or plot that got old fast and judging by some of these reviews that was a valid concern.
