The Iranian regime wants to deescalate and thereby retain power, yes. That does not mean they will stop bombing until the US/Israel stop bombing. Netanyahu is currently on record saying he will keep ramping up bombing. Trump wants to talk to them because A) more US soldiers dying is bad, obviously, B) I don't know how many missiles they have to keep defending their bases/Israel from drone strikes. I don't think this is happening soon, though. Israel has no reason to stop bombing, and I don't know how willing they are to listen to the US when they dragged the US into this in the first place.
