A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Reform also now have a further-right position next to them, which gives them further credibility to the public as "non-extreme"
Lol. LMAO even. The people who think Reform are literally Hitlers are not suddenly going to change their minds now that Restore exits, they're just going to smear them both as racist.

The difference here is that Farage has garnered establishment support from experienced politicians.
Reform's rise largely came on the back of people being fed up with traditional politicians, arguing that those politicians supporting Nige is going to somehow help win the electorate over is a fucking pipedream.

but the point is that in the public eye the conservative turnover has added to the credibility of Reform's ability to govern.
Again, taking in the literal exact same politicians who just spent years running the country into the shitter and arguing they "add credibility to Reform's ability to govern" is idiotic.

This is the exact sort of shit the sheep botherer kept trying to push, it was retarded then and it's retarded now. You say Reform needs people who know how the system works to get shit done, but I'd counter they need to win first. Regardless of the current polls we all know come election day actually winning a majority under FPTP is a tall order, and being seen as Diet Tories is IMO likely to alienate far more voters than it could possibly win.

Is that supposed to be a good thing? The only thing the Tory boys have wrought upon the nation is decline and BAMES, they, quite frankly, deserve executions in the Hague. Farage bringing them back in is an actual demerit rather than any form of actual credit.

The only positive Reform has to it is that they have ousted themselves early that they are utter, treasonous snakes, hopefully falling apart completely by 2029.

There used to be a few unified political narratives due to the small number of media sources. Now, political culture is this chaotic mix of bizarre intersecting patterns like Conway's Game of Life, ever unpredictable, ever throwing out strange interplays.

I give you exhibit A:

£121'456. I don't pay enough to match the interest, and I don't ever expect to pay it off. It's just effectively a new tax for me. My parents got their degrees for free. Pain. Paaaiiiinnnnn.
EDIT: I did a Masters though, and then a funded PhD, so I had extra loans, and a period of no work which could be used to pay it off before I even got out of education.
Just checked mine for the first time in a while, and. unless something changes, should have my degree loan paid off next year and post-grad two years after that. Really looking forward to not having a massive chunk of my pay taken every month.

I cannot emphasise how much I hate the AI slop produce by the British "Right-Wing". Literally from the Tommeh Remembrance Day AI pictures to the more recent AI Pathways GF, I hate it I hate it I hate it.

I hate how forced it is, how low quality it is, how boomer-coded it is, how Tory-boy in nature it is. It's the lowest quality SLOP you can put into the trough and yet people piggies still lap it up

Um, sorry. I just found this really funny. And honestly kind of catchy...

For some reason something just absolutely niggles me about seeing it used. I'm not someone who's an Anti-AI zealot by any means, I give credit when propaganda is good, even the Croydon Water Park AI videos I thought were funnier in that they point out the problem without saying it, your enemies admit to the problem themselves for whatever that's worth in the year of our Lord.

But the way in which it's done by retards on Xitter, by Trump, by Farage, by these hucksters and Slopulists do it is so lacking in any tact, so lacking in quality, I loathe it and Amelia AI has basically just become
>OH MY GOD GUYS IT'S A HECKIN BASED GIRL SAYING SHE HATES PAKISSS WOOOOAHHHH SOOOOOO BASSSEEEED

>OH MY GOD GUYS IT'S A HECKIN BASED GIRL SAYING SHE HATES PAKISSS WOOOOAHHHH SOOOOOO BASSSEEEED
I think part of the fun with Amelia is (a) it's such a colossal backfiring from a piece of state propaganda. It's the classic case of someone writing something they think will show someone in a bad light only to have the audience love the character. She's Alan Moore's Rorschach or John Milton's Satan. We're supposed to see how terrible they are and the author's intent fails completely. People respond to the defiance of the character.

And (b) it broke containment and I get this stuff from all sides, not just Farms level stuff. The fact that she's fictional gives her a layer of protection from the State apparatus that real world people cannot have. Tommy Robinson can be locked up but Amelia never can be. Behind this mask, Mr. Creely, is a teenage pink-haired cartoon. And cartoons, are prison-proof.

Wrong. This is what parents are for. All of what you mentioned there is part of basic parenting, the heading is "don't allow your children to become people you don't like".
While I agree some what, I've hit you with a disagree.

There's everything expected of parents and they should raise decent kids, those who can't for lack of knowledge, want or trying, then don't impact the rest of society. Even if parents do a 10/10 job, there's no experience that can be taught, explained or forewarned about like actual experience.

Then there's the fact of getting people out of their zones, towns, small lives and areas. Travel broadens the mind and parents can't teach that. Even if they could/can, you're still with the training wheels pointing out the Parthenon.

Allowing teens/young adults to explore themselves, their own ideas and wonders without parental guidance is part of the learning experience that many miss out on, for the worse. You have to be allowed to dare to fail, in an environment where the first few failures aren't devastating for the rest of a life.

Saying a parent should teach their kids to be respectful, well read and fearless is fine, that's the parents job. Historically there was a point early in a man's life when he was no longer under the tutelage of the parents and instead joined the hunters and warriors. The females would go learn how to care for infants, make the food, the pottery, gather food, wash the clothes etc.

We've lost that community educational side completely. Where it used to be scouts, or cubs or cadets is now what? An after-school woke-special tranny freak show where the cub captain is a nonce and cadets is full of trannies and lardo's?

We need a strong course correct like National Service to get back on track. Social isolation, lack of education (as in, the want and search for knowledge) and a break-down of community groups has led to our society, and the west in general, churning out angry, bitter, lost, socially inept adults - in all but age.

Most of that is little, if anything, to do with the parents or anything that they can correct after a certain age. That's why I hit disagree.

And everyone's forgot the Dundee girl who actually DID something.

I said it in the thread before but I don't think it was a backfire. Making the "face" of nationalism look like Romano Flowers seems like something they would intentionally do. When I see Amelia I see Scott Pilgrim and I hate it the same way I hate all the weebs using anime for "based right wing memes". I know why it's gone viral, I know people think it's subversive but when I see a girl with purple hair I think "Attention seeking slag with daddy issues" not "The future I want for our girls and women".

Urbanite metrosexuals telling you to travel the world and soak in globohomo so you can be a real man is funny. Mass travel and tourism is a new part of our "society." Most of our grandparents never left the country unless it was for a world war. Holidays were an hours drive away not getting on a plane. Rootless people want to stare through the door window at people living lives with roots. Want everyone else to fuck off and lose their community, lose their connection to their family. Become text messages and disconnected from everything. It's fucking creepy how this diseased mind thinks. You're not a better person because you spent a week in a tourist trap in Thailand. A better person takes on their responsibilities in their community and helps build up their family and home. Spending the prime years of your life traveling around instead of working and building relationships is why we have so many middle age childless women and men complaining they can't buy a house. Save the money, invest it in your future. Make relationships with local people and live local and you will have an actual return on your investment not just a bunch of pictures on facebook.

Why does it always have to be some gay looking nu-anime shit, why can't they at least use shit like Hokuto no Ken, a series about a gigachad that just walks around a wasteland and causes rapists and other such miscreants to violently and painfully explode?
Birmingham could use a few of those.
