Sorry but you can't convince me that some planets being in a certain position light years away from us will somehow determine which crazy ex Tard will simp for next, or how long he'll spend in jail or when Samantha will be able to afford an oven again after her last one was reposessed after she failed to pay it off. That's just insanity, all astrology, tarot, palm reading, coffee ground, tea leaf reading, is bullshit. It's nothing more than scamming, psychological trickery.

None of that is what my comment was about... maybe I should have been clearer that my issue here is seeing any and all "conspiracy theories" being lumped in with all that and thrown away wholesale.
Yes, there are a LOT of idiotic and ludicrous conspiracy theories, but useful idiots who gladly jump to the conclusion that they obviously all are because it feeds their ego are pathetic and despicable, because they help hide the rare but real cases when serious investigation is warranted.

It was just a drive-by shot. It's not like they claimed all are invalid, or elaborated on which ones they disagree with. It's not quite hyperbole, but not entirely not so. It's very common in Generation X speak. I'm not sure why, but it's just part of the vernacular.

Oh you meant conspiracy theories, yeah of course I agree, they shouldn't be lumped together with astrology, tarot etc., they're not even comparable, if you look at dictionary definitions of "conspiracy" and "theory" separately, you'll arrive at the conclusion that they could refer to anything, from objective reality to absolute lunacy, so without being more specific, it's impossible to judge all conspiracy theories as a group. Astrology, tarot,... however have a lot in common, which is that they have a well defined scope and dogmas and they're proven to be not based on reality and are charlatanism.

Take a page from Tarl's business model and download the free PDFs of all those old books. I know it's not as cool as a nice dusty tome but you can have your phone read them to you and if you really want you could probably print out tour favorites as a soft cover book.
