Happy birthday to Storme DeLarverie! Wikipedia is posthumously soft-pooning Storme DeLarverie. All her pronouns have been replaced with they/them.

"her website". I don't think that a woman who was in her late 60s when the first website was created had much of a hand in a website created 5 years after her death.

Speaking of 5 years after her death, the evidence that Storme was nonbinary? A friend of hers (who 100% buys into all the gender shit) off-handedly said, 5 years after Storme's death, that she was non-binary.

She still used she/her pronouns for her and seems to think of non-binary as the same thing as gender non-conforming, and every other person who knew her uses she/her pronouns, but our intrepid Wikipedia editor, Taylor Lane thinks that this proves that she was nonbinary and used they/them pronouns.

How else do you explain the fact that she never announced that she had a female gender identity? Taylor does admit that she called herself a woman, but that's not conclusive: "A source where Stormé refers to themself as a woman does not mean that that is them stating a gender identity." And even though Lisa Cannistraci, Taylor's only source for soft-pooning Storme in the first place is on record using exclusively she/her pronouns for Storme, that's also not sufficient evidence because: "She's a cis woman who will not always get the language "right."" Meanwhile, Storme said she was fine with people using any pronouns they want for her, so that means that Taylor is actually totally justified in spending months urging (and finally enacting) the switch to they/them pronouns.

As much as I roll my eyes at nonbinary girls, I actually have sympathy for the young ones unlike full-on pooners. If you are a gender non-conforming girl in a remotely nerdy space then you are going to be facing a lot of social pressure to not identify as a girl, and it's a lot harder to resist a gender neutral identity. I do not have this same sympathy for actual full-on pooners because that's a far more active rejection of reality while theyFABbery just seems like not embracing the reality of biological sex.

Some selfies on the thread remind me of the fat girl angle shot that Encyclopedia Dramatica had an article about. Abbreviated as FGAS.

That's right up there with "Gosh, your eyes are really purty" in creepthirst vibe.
I'm sorry you are so insecure in your own being that one random person giving another random person a well-deserved compliment for lots of work that the second person is doing seems creepy and somehow sexual to you. That sounds like a sad and pathetic way to live. In the real world, people give compliments, and the appropriate and expected response is "Thank you." Just yesterday a friend who is visiting cooked me and other friends (including Ms Late-Nite Muffin) a fine meal. Afterwards I thanked him in reasonable detail about what a delicious meal it was. Maybe because you weren't there, nobody thought I was flirting with him or lusting after him. He responded, "Thank you so much. I enjoy cooking for my friends." That's how normal people interact. Magic Pickle writes enjoyable stuff. I enjoy fine writing. I gave MP a compliment. MP thanked me for the compliment. A good time was had by all, except those who give and receive so little praise in their own lives that praise makes them uncomfortable. And just to be clear: I have no sexual interest in MP. Get your own mind out of the gutter, and also look up Occam's Razor.

Pooner neurosis should be studied in a fucking lab, because between the last chick and this one, they are constantly inventing new things to be insecure about
Sounds like this pooner pictures herself as a nonchalant avoidant masculine anime character and thinks her personality doesn’t pass. Or mental degradation simply leads to hysteria over a 4 letter result on a stupid Internet test that’s about as credible as zodiac signs.

"Non binary people have always existed reeeeeee!" and its some butch lesbian. Lol.

I think the main danger of pooners is that because they are women, everyone gives them a pass. Pooners basically have the same protections as teachers who molest thier students.
Exactly. People instinctively look at a gross hulking tranny and feel disgust. Because they register that they're men. But pooners? Pooners get a lot of stuff excused because they still get the woman pass, despite their kermit voiced screeching.

Poonerism is also much more contagious with the way that it has caught on with anybody female and even remotely eccentric or "gender nonconforming".

The tomboys and "goth" or "punk" girls of yesteryear are today's pooners.

It's a similar thing with how other trends spread. Like remember the huge bulimia and anorexia scare in the late 90's and 2000's? Just another social contagion. But this one is far more insidious because it has much longer lasting consequences, AND it has a weird cult like community built around it.

I'm glad people are wising up to how fucking dangerous pooners are.

By contrast, I joined Kiwifarms because I was told it was a hookup and dating website for transphobes. In fact, nothing has convinced me of the opposite so far.

Either way, merry Christmas to you all!

this 40something Australian wife
I've been wearing a binder for couple of months and I do enjoy the security of the compression and the flatter look of my chest. But it's summer right now in Australia, so the heat is a bit of an issue!
Imagine how many fewer TiFs there would be if only they got properly fitting bras.

Another dangerous aspect of poonerism are the seahorse dads. From reddit and tumblr I’ve noticed that pooner pregnancy is unfortunately rather common. It's a shame they don't castrate themselves like troons

I'm glad people are wising up to how fucking dangerous pooners are.
I wish! While the right wing media and politicians love to (rightfully) dunk on troons and drag queens, they're radio silent on the pooner issue. Both the drag queen and the pooner teacher we saw last page want to brainwash your kid with the LGBT ideology, but only the second one gets a full pass from the society

This is why pooners are far more dangerous.
They were far more common than troons pre-COVID and they were all bitches to everyone. Known several people whose lives were ruined by them. They were a mockery towards those who have genuine sexual identity issues.
