A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Is it too autistic to suggest that conscription/war is too risky for the current government? It's strange how we discuss things on here and then they happen in real life.
Shelf stacking.

Went into my local sainsburys for a spot of shopping after work. A nignog was being trained by late-aged white woman (60 ish). Said niggette had dreads, a black hoody on with the hood up and lips like a folded rubber dinghy.
I walked past and heard the white woman say "no, no, you can't stack them like that". As I looked over I notice the boon was stacking packs of sliced cheese by throwing them onto the shelf, not placing them face up (we live in a simulation and it's mocking me) so that you could see the product.

The lifeless, uncaring, unintelligent stare on the cheese-chucker was only beaten in humour by the absolute disgust, frustration and condemnation in the attempting-to-be-polite condescending tone of the white woman.

Said sheboon returned to the cage of goods, picked up a wedge of different cheese products and again just chucked them on the shelf. You could see the white woman's soul leave her body and pray for retirement right there beside the Emmenthal.

I look forward to the shelf stackers looking like they've come straight from a PG tips advert.

I'm always a bit fascinated by the information-free articles that come out after these things. You see the headline on the BBC website - 9 year old killed, holy shit.

Click on the link: absolutely no further information. A nine year old was stabbed - that's all we know. A knife entered her body somehow and she died. The police are investigating but currently have absolutely no information. They've made an information-free statement that this is sad, and they're talking to people and looking into it. That's all we know!!

Information may, one day, be revealed in a couple of years when a judge decides we can know that the killer was a boat wog lying about being a teenager the identity of the accused. Until
then, please ignore the basic pattern-recognising parts of your brain. Do not, under any circumstance, put two and two together based on recent past experience. Thank you.

Once upon a time when something like this happened you could just search twitter and some local would be naming names and not giving a fucking. For a good few years now, even prior to the Online Safety Act and even after Musk took over, it’s been impossible to find that info.

I always thought it would be easy when stuff happens in my home town as it is full of retards who probably don’t realise the can get in trouble and I have to do deep key word searches to get things popping up.

It’s weird how they’ve been able to censor twitter for years for us.

No doubt so Fat Baz is being based about it on Facebook but it would mean having to log into Facebook.

Abbie was sexually assaulted by an Iranian asylum seeker who was being supported by a Christian charity. Police then moved him to a house a few doors down from where she was staying. He’s had all the support in the world. She’s been let down.

I am 90% sure that the 9-year-old was murdered by her brother or another relative. Most of the press reports state that she lived at home with her mother and multiple older siblings. There is a line from the police statement ('The girl’s family were informed last night of what had happened and our heartfelt condolences go out to them') which implies that at least some of her family were not at home at the time - they wouldn't need to be told their daughter had been killed at home if they were there. Which means that either they had left her completely by herself (unlikely but not impossible) or that they had left her in the care of an older relative. Of course, it is possible that the relative is not biologically so.

The odds of it being a random boat wog who was 'lucky' enough to break into the one house on a residential street with a single girl inside at the time are low. It is dreadful enough regardless and the piece of shit responsible should hang.
