He went off the deep end very recently.
He and Lemur set an ecker instance in 2022, but he left next year. Lemur was left alone to run it on a shitty laptop for a small group of lolicon fags on /v/ and /g/
Meanwhile Leto was hanging out on Discord and Roblox being just as depraved, but within the confines of invite only servers.
Leto comes back, around the second half of 2024 and gives him near unlimited funding and a VPS.

I believe the 15 minute post timer is a direct consequence of them linking up again. Months later, the CSAM embeds return and it becomes downward spiral to having an illegal spam bot running 24/7.

I skimmed through and didn't see anyone suggesting applying a KiwiFlare-like solution to the registration form where you have to crunch numbers for a while before being able to pull the trigger. A regular user isn't going to notice a minute of background wait that's already over before they're done tabbing through the registration form, but a gay pedophile trying to register a thousand accounts would have to conjure up several hours of CPU time from somewhere.

Agree, but also growth matters and the community requires new members eventually.

Until the situation improves, dying or committing suicide should be a bamnable offense. It's problematic for the forum and its members, and we should punish people for the discourtesy of grave-laying.

I don't use 4chan, but I was under the impression that because it was very lax with its rules that it was always unusable and was basically either literal nazis shitposting (/pol/), porn shitposting (/b/) or just shitposting with the theme of the board in mind (like /v/ will have people doing le epic funney Halo meme). I was too young at the time, but IIRC I was told that 4chan users loved to post gore to scare normalfags away. 8chan had pedoshit problems too. These platforms tend to attract the lowest denominator no matter what you do. The sharty is lucky to have lasted this long without this sort of bullshit and I think it's thanks to its strong social identity/culture.

So either the feds were early to the party or it was always like that, except that now it's a husk of its former self and feels a lot more like reddit. Honestly i blame the youtubers and r/greentext for this one.

As a recent refugee myself i understand the hypocrisy but i think the newfag waiting room might not be a bad idea.
Create a volunteer subset of jannies with no other sight powers from the true and honest fan pool who have been vetted either by post history or some other non shit starter metric. Keep the invite aspect and put all new applicants in a waiting room with a max occupancy cutoff for screening. Prioritize invitations from certain farmers over other based on tenure and positive reaction scores to stop bulk invites from preexisting silent sock puppets. Give the Kiwigaurd some silly little flair and im sure they would do it for free.

I know it would probably kill the whole idea behind "the best lolcows come from random users who happen to know one", but, is there any way to just lock out new users from attaching anything at all? Of course that doesn't stop him from just typing up bullshit or hyperlinking to something offsite, but it was something I wondered. Seems like something so simple you'd have tried it already or somebody already suggested it, but I'm behind a bit.

Yeah, pretty obvious you don't use 4chan. That site is a shitlib hellhole. Any "legit nazis" left a long time ago because feds gayopped it to hell and back,
