A lot of insight here, so thanks for that. Everyone else I asked about Limbus seemed completely brainwashed by the game to the point where they didn't understand my objections to the gacha system trivializing any semblance of an actual handcrafted experience, just get lucky and win. My experience with Limbus was exactly that. On my first pull after the tutorial I immediately got 2 of the highest rarity pulls, including one of whatever the spotlight was at the time. Maybe the experience would have been better if I chose not to use it because after that I was just blasting through everything and the only saving grace was the VN portions of the game, which I did like. I don't follow project moon or their community all too close like I imagine most of you guys do so I had no idea about the autobattler stuff or the game's original vision, but it certainly makes sense. I'd definitely agree with the notion that they sold out and betrayed the fans because genuinely what the hell is this game doing after the last two great ones they made.
I suppose when the mood strikes I may just look into finding it all on youtube, I don't really feel like wasting my time with the incredibly long and boring dungeons anymore.

The best part of Ruina is the first half of the game where it builds upon itself in an organic way before entirely shitting the bed with the second half of the game where most major fights are EGO/Distorted bosses with zero cost Shimmering decks and no weaknesses.
I agree with the notion of this but I suppose I never thought about it too deeply? Thinking about it now yeah it's kinda bullshit but at the time I was enjoying building my characters to endure it all regardless. I went into ruina totally blind and even now haven't really discussed the game much with anyone else who's played it so a lot of the ""meta"" strategies and whatnot that trivialize the game went entirely over my head. I was just really happy to be playing a deckbuilder that isn't a damn "roguelike". When I say "the most complicated" do note I mean as far as total freedom of choice in deckbuilding, instead of picking one of the limited options a game might occasionally give. Maybe a bit of exaggeration, but still a serious breath of fresh air.

I'm surprised no one brought up the Keter realization fight in Ruina, perhaps the most "random bullshit" fight(s) in the game, the hammer girl fight was easily the more annoying encounter along with wrist cutter

Ruina is fun and all but come on, let's not kid ourselves here on this. The best part of Ruina is the first half of the game where it builds upon itself in an organic way before entirely shitting the bed with the second half of the game where most major fights are EGO/Distorted bosses with zero cost Shimmering decks and no weaknesses. The entire existance of Shimmering was them giving up on any semblance of game balance since they had no idea how to design the later bosses around the very mechanics they used (Best example are the Ensamble fights. Elena is the best instance of this "we gave up lol" rhetoric) It was also likely introduced to stop Netzach and Hod's floors trivializing every fight with Laetitia/Black Swan and TSO, which it did...but Tiph's cheap as shit aoe card that gives everyone giga aids (Nihil) with pierce stance PT is totally fine.

Also on the topic of Ruina: does anyone remember when Kim nerfed the Rats because he lost to them on a stream? good times.

Tbf, the second half it just becomes a puzzle game rather than a deck builder, find whatever bullshit build bypasses the bosses gimmick.

If Limbus was more like Lobotomy, I'd be filtered long ago.
Most of the newly released content isn't even that hard if you read passives and play accordingly. The annoying part is having to get team wiped to unlock passive/skill/weakness information of whatever boss. It should unlock even if I chose to concede.

next walpurgis ID teased
>So rushed and half-baked they forgot to add the ruina border to it
>Based on a character around shuffling cards
>Not given to the one Sinner who’s about gambling
>Ishmael fans don't want it because they were hoping for Crimson Scar next walpipi
>Ruina fans don't want it over more interesting guests

This right here is what we call a humiliation ritual plain and simple. It was Ishmael's turn on the walpurgis cycle so El Director had to make sure it was as bad/boring as possible without looking too obvious, otherwise he would have given her a Love Town ID if he was allowed. Hanafuda is just not an interesting character, she was a general reception and her page mostly talked about the work Jeong's Office did in the casinos, Her page back in Ruina wasn't that good and was mostly used for the passives. As such, she'll need to compensate for it by being a reallly good ID just like Tamaki Heathcliff. IF the other ID we get is Allen (most likely Allen Gregor) then I'd unironically believe it would generate more hype, mainly because a lot of people that completed Ruina still remember Allen being THE pierce guy with a great page, passives and skills. (This is also the second gambling related Discard ID given to someone else instead of Rodya. Genuinely what the fuck)

You forgot the most important part: based on Hanafuda Ishmael, and the fact that Hanafuda appeared in the story, this Wal will likely be Hanafuda Rep, Night Awls Boss, and an E.G.O. I give it 70/30 odds for Night Awl Boss Gregor. More importantly, that would mean only one E.G.O. Either this Wal will be "Tiph part 2" similar to Lob Corp's Central department, making the E.G.O likely Gold Rush (which is what I'm hoping for, KoG is the coolest Magical Girl) or Blind Rage, or we're getting Gebura. If Gebura, only one of the Scars is unlikely but not impossible, Dipsia is a firm maybe, but Smile or Mimicry are the most likely. Unfortunately, I doubt we'd get an ALEPH before season 7, so if we did get one of those they'd probably be down tiered, so likely WAW Smile, for Yi Sang or Sinclair.

Datamining has in fact shown it'll probably be Gregor getting the ID. However, remember that Jihoon said during the livestream a while back that this Walp will have no E.G.O. released.

I still don't really get how this is a Walpurgis Night. We had the same thing back with Molar Outis except she was just a Seasonal. I wouldn't be surprised if this gets Tiph. part 2, I don't get why they'd give Gebura to the most filler Walpurgis Night yet (they realized they needed to pump out a walpurgis night since its been 4 months since the last one and came up with this)

>Jeong office
>Not Wedge office
This is the most filler pick ever, I'm not even mad or dissapointed, I just feel indifferent.
Fingers crossed we get a detailed explanation as to how Allen and Hanafuda survived the bookening™ since most reports are "uhhh I woke up and uhhh yeah"

I trust the director he made jobbers like blade lineage and bamboo hatted kim look cool i think the director will make hanafuda jobbers look cool

If we're not getting story for this event, then I'd rather get some of the less important general invitations.

Kim got an entire intervallo to regain aura althoughbeit
Kim, alongside the Middle and Distorted Boris. Were all cut content, it's not surprising to see the Blade Lineage get expanded, or for the Middle to be so prominent in the story, and if we meet Boris next Canto or Intervallo I won't be surprised either.

To any Limbus players who have actually played Lobotomy Corp/Library of Ruina... how? I've never felt filtered by a game being too easy/simple before. It's crazy to me how PM went from one of the most complicated deckbuilders I've played to a gacha game where your winning strategy is match the colors and the balance is completely out the window once you pull anything rare. I put a few hours into Limbus and as much as I want to see more of the game's lore I can't stomach the gameplay. Does it get much harder and complicated the further along you go? Is the gameplay an agreed on issue and everyone else is into the characters and story? Am I just autistic? All genuine questions, I'm curious how the fans feel about the actual game.
I started playing lor but it seems easy so far (Xiao first try BTFO'ed but I'm probably gonna get raped doe)
