This is the inherent cognitive dissonance of the premise. Charlie wants to redeem sinners, all sinners. She would absolutely try to be friends with Hitler.
See the pilot even with it's only half an hour to set everything up deals a bit with this viewpoint, because Charlie makes it absolutely clear she doesn't trust Alastor even the tiniest bit, her internal alarms going off even before Vaggie takes her aside and informs her of just who Alastor is (Which is a scene that makes very little sense when connected to the series itself but thats another thing entirely).

Regardless, with how little the show cares about what landed a Sinner in Hell in the first place, it loops right back around into the thought process of "If the show doesn't care this person's earthly sins, why should the audience?"

Al has an autistic aversion to modern tech, so he'd probably just get either Husk or Niffty to make posts for him.
Vox and Velvette would be a double-edged sword: on one hand, VoxTek's infrastructure could 100% be used to DDOS-proof and keep the Farms running no matter what, plus they would be excellent phonebookers & information gatherers, due to Vox being a one-man surveillance state and Vel being a social media expert. On the other hand, they would be insufferable alogs – Vox constantly trying to run gay-ops against Alastor, while Velvette would keep making threads on whatever e-girl she's beefing with that week.
Valentino would be the pet retard with a pink triangle that keeps posting horny spiels about every female cow and throws massive thread-derailing shitfits when poked fun at.
So basically Valentino would be a all-rounder Animesuckscopeandsneed

I'm someone who believes that almost anyone can be redeemed no matter what they have done. That doesn't mean that everyone WILL. Because redemption is hard. It's a challenging path to walk down that offers very little rewards. It's more than just feeling sorry for what you've done; you also have to actively try and be a better person. Any you also have to accept the fact that just because you are doing so, doesn't mean that everyone is just going to forgive and forget all that you've done. That's called the consequences of your actions.

Agency as a whole means also actually deciding if redemption is what someone strives for. Maybe, for an Overlord, redemption might mean losing his cumulated privilege that he or she built over time, and ending up level 0 somewhere else might not cut it. Also, redemption is also something that might be possible on a certain level of corruption, but not on a total scale. For the same reason, certain personalities cant ever be reintroduced to society, no matter how hard we try as a system to grant them a second chance, every single time. Some people cannot be recuperated, some souls cannot be redeemed.

Don't know if anyone's mentioned it, but it seems the OST on the Spotify page is slowly getting updated with song titles and credits in place of the emojis; a duet between Adam and Lute has appeared.

Which, honestly, could actually make for a pretty compelling and legitimately "provocative" storytelling if Vivzie wasn't a safe-edgy mid-2000s fedora tipper and was actually serious about the concept of redeeming damned souls and was intellectually and emotionally mature enough to tackle it.

The core frustration of so many in the fantom is exactly this. If she would have been "daring" or "intelligent" enough to properly dive into such topics, she would have had a much higher quality product in the media universe: she could have made a full dark comedy, very adulty cartoon, without having to resort to this retarded amount of swearing, sexual explicit scenes or rape jokes.

I mean, dont get me wrong, im not a puritan, and I ve been a fan of the comic The Boys (not the tv show, they butchered that thing so badly, holy shit) since the beginning of time, which includes a very crude and nasty tone all throughout the comic. The difference is, the most important plot topics were in focus and kept in focus: what makes superheroes good? What makes them bad? Who s keeping them in check? Fuck, it is not even such a psychologically refined ultra chich comic, it s choppy at times and quite surface level, but it works because the main plot points are kept stable and in view allllll the time!

I dunno I think Soldier Boy being accidentally cool is way better than being a literal pants-pissing loser that gets assraped by Homelander. So that's one point in the shows favor :smug:

Them making Black Noire a literal black guy who dies randomly and doesn't matter, thereby completely destroying the character and by extension the entire ending of the story, is hilarious though. How do you fuck up that bad?

The comic twist wasn't amazing or anything but it was way more interesting that whatever the fuck they're trying to do now.

I see your points, if they would have kept the same level of "destruction" and irony on both sides of the spectrum, I would have been on board, but when they pushed so hard their actual political perspective over the show they completely lost me.
Im European. I dont want to listen to their Hollywood propaganda points about orange man bad, I dont give a shit. They can spare me their "high ground" political opinion.

And watch, the same will happen with HH: Viv has been sperging about this on her x account as well, about drawing the parallelism about poor babies of hell being raided by ice exterminators and how these poor sinners have a reason now to be angy at Heaven and Vox is LiTErAlly like orange man blablablabla

I could puke.

Ya do realize the author of the comic is a hack with a burning hateboner for super heroes, who was acting like they were a big thing at the time said comics was written. Garth Ennis is just a one note pony who writes comics as a "fuk u" to things he hates without any talent behind it.

Yes and it was clear since the really beginning, why would you write an entire opera in this tone if not? He fits the edgy author profile.

The point is, you can make it interesting and you can make it functional to a plot. And you can make it also entertaining!
How absolutely entertaining is the concept of THE Princess of Hell that creates a Hotel to redeem her own citizens, because she inherently has a problem with hell as a whole?

Ennis created a plot about how heroes are bad, and made his protagonists almost as bad as the antagonists are, this was absolutely hilarious imho and blurred the lines of what is good, what is bad, what makes bad actions "justified" in the "great scheme of things".
It was a solid concept that Viv could have fully exploited as well, but she didn't, and now we re here.

Only issue is that Ennis being a hack, he clearly wants the readers to cheer for his "supah kewl Irish trenchcoat wearing dun steel OC", specially when latee on everyone is just sucking off Butchers cock and how hes always right. Its less being hilarious, its just a pissed off Mick jerking off on comic book pages and thinking hes a profound and great writer (which is a running theme if one reads his Punisher, Preacher or Crossed series)

Agree, still, I appreciated the idea behind it. It is solid. The ending of the comic moved me, very much. And made me somehow also appreciate Billy up to a point because let s face it, he is not portraited as a good person either.

Now THAT's an actual plot line that could be interesting. It's all well and good that random sinner schumcks want go to the Hotel to get redeemed, or just want a free bed to crash at like Angel originally did. But the concept of redemption would actually be proven much more strongly if a seemingly powerful sinner like Zestial or Camilla or whatever can actually get convinced to give up their accumulated souls (and what is the pyschological implication of a sinner holding another sinner's soul to begin with? If the soul holder is an active piece of shit, do they hear the screams and cries of their victims in their dreams or whenever they're alone and vulnerable? Nope, it's just a little factoid about Hell, nothing all that much interesting), and as such, give up their power and associated stability and strength to risk actually trying to find hope, find valor in redemption?

Vivz, PLEASE, hire someone to actually think this shit out for once, even if only an glorified ideas guy. You already given up on your shows being anything resembling an actual comedy. They're now dramas. And good dramas *love* including implications hidden in their text for consumers of such text to mull over when not actively interacting with it. I know, give me the rainbows already *sigh*
