Bystanders report seeing Kirk shot near his neck during a Q&A with students.

A suspect is in custody, according to a UVU alert sent to students. The campus is on lockdown.

Similar shenanigans happen with pilot training, stuff that has led to at least 1 plane crash when a completely incompetent black pilot was pushed through over the objections of his instructors.

As far as the law, how do you think law school admissions work?

It could be about a disagreement with a family member or in law. It could be related to an affair he or his wife had. Gambling debts. It could be anything. That was a crazy shot to hit from that far away, and I thought shooters aimed for center mass. People move a lot but tend to signal where they’re about to move from their hip/midsection region.

The FBI didn’t have *the* guy, they questioned a couple of suspects and determined weren’t the shooters so they were released. As of now they don’t have a detailed description, they’re tracking him and if he catches on he might kill himself, or his glowie handlers picked him up and they’re gonna hand some patsy over in the next few days

It'll be interesting just how much cameras picked up on the shooter before and after. It'll basically make/break the case now that the shooter is in the wind.

If the shooter spray painted the cameras on campus or used blind spots to their advantage, this could be a long haul investigation. Authorities will likely have to start looking for recent rifle purchases after they identify the make/model from the bullet. If it's a ghost gun ala Luigi, then it'll be tough.

I imagine best case scenario is that people saw the shooter intermingle with the crowd afterwards and can hopefully ID. Or that the shooter left clues on the internet. Phone pinges from the time/location might help narrow it down

I don't envy the investigators on this one, it's possibly worst case scenario since they don't have a good ID or the weapon.
