Charlie Kirk was shot at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah on Wednesday.

Bystanders report seeing Kirk shot near his neck during a Q&A with students.

A suspect is in custody, according to a UVU alert sent to students. The campus is on lockdown.

Multiple reports currently say Charlie Kirk made it to the hospital and is currently stable but the extent of his injuries and likelihood of recovery isn't currently known. He is in critical condition.

This stuck out to me, too. Do I like Kamala Harris? Not particularly. Do I think she should run the country? No. Would I celebrate her getting murdered on the basis of her political views? I had an honest think about it and this isn't some "own the libs" answer that would actually change in the moment: No, that's antithetical to American values and I'm a patriot. Also, I value the sanctity of human life. I feel like Redditors are so brain-rotted that they view it as a game or something, they're happy "our guy" got killed so naturally we would be happy if one of "their guys" got killed, too. It's fucking weird.
 
Late to the storm but learning that Kirk was a mild-mannered normal debate guy is heartbreaking. This death feels like the end of peace.

stopping, silencing, intimidating, and otherwise disrupting TPUSA's work is 100% the intended outcome and it will be at least somewhat successful. it's not crazy to think that stopping kirk's work in particular will slow the rightward swing among young people. unless the right truly does rally around his martyrdom and we see protests in his honor and a grassroots effort to continue his work, debate style, etc., taking him out definitely advances left wing goals.

Quite literally everyone I’ve talked to IRL (the majority of whom were apolitical normies) is on Charlie’s side. People are tired of leftist terrorism. Either Trump cracks down or vigilantism becomes the norm.
