I must ask:

It would have been fine if Wuchang had treated this story with the gravity it deserved, but you can then find the clothing of these women and read about how horribly they’ve suffered, only for the game to giggle as your character breasts boobily in those same clothes.

Is this actually accurate? That kind of sounds like misery porn, which is just not my cup of tea.

I have no clue what they're talking about but I'm only ~4 hours into the game so far. I just read all the descriptions of the clothes and didn't get that vibe about anything. There are some jiggle physics but you have to be paying attention considering most of the time the camera is aimed at your back or you're focused on something besides your chest (which isn't gigantic to begin with.) I have picked up some armor off of enemies or out of chests, which is par for the course for this genre.

Anyways, more first impressions (GAMEPLAY SPOILERS AHEAD):

I like the skill tree. It's gigantic and basically a Nioh/Final Fantasy sphere grid. You can reset it at any shrine and it costs nothing, which allows you to redistribute points as you see fit if you pick up new weapons or would rather use a different skill for a particular fight.

I'm enjoying the exploration. So far the environments and enemies are at the right difficulty. I don't (yet) feel fatigued by them where I want to run through and it's been fun to explore. One of my main critiques of Dark Souls games is just running past enemies once you reach a boss and so far this game hasn't had that.

I'm enjoying the bosses, so far they're aggressive and punishing but they're also sort of glass cannons, I'm sure this can change the further in the game I get but I like not having to focus on a boss for multiple minutes while I do chip damage. This feeling was further cemented by the boss I just killed. I was dodging like a professional while stringing together special weapon skills and magic. It feels more like a Bloodborne or a Nioh than a standard souls game.

I like the side quests, because the game actually gives you a small heads up in the menu if there's something where you're going.

The death system is interesting, I'm not sure if I like it yet, but basically the more you die the more damage you start to do and take. Die too much and a demonic invader appears, killing that resets you back to zero demonic energy. Certain skills enhance you based on how much demonic energy you have. You can also start fudging these numbers yourself and you're incentivized to do so.

Lastly, I'm enjoying my current weapon, a long sword that is held together by a whip/chain and can split apart to increase reach/AoE. On said latest boss fight I used two long swords and swapped between them to do their own unique skills. My long sword whip skill is going to be different than others, but I have yet to figure out how extra skills that I unlock will affect the system.

Neat, that's kind of like world tendency.

I honestly wanted to try out this game, but because a lot of people reported bad performance, even on top of the line hardware, I thought I'll wait until a patch fix.
A patch came, guess what the devs thought what optimization was.

Essentially, even if you put your rendering resolution to what you prefer (1080,1440), the game will always render at a lower resolution than what you set it up in the settings, without enabling upscaling methods (DLSS,FSR). And they said chink games would be the future of gaming.

Unreal Engine 5 has to be destroyed to save gaming.
UE5 seems more like a crutch for hack developers, trying to get the best possible graphics, without the needed time and effort that usually goes in to creating them.
It can be a decent engine in the hands of competent devs, Expedition 33 is a good example. In the end, no matter what you think about ue5, games made in that engine look the same, which makes me miss the unique artsyles that came with the inhouse engines over the years.

Something about the combat feels really off to me. It feels like too floaty and too stiff at the same time. Really hard to explain. Also feel like healing takes too long to pull off, or is unresponsive or something.

The invader that appears when you die is completely brutal and just steamrolls me every time. Also the enemies that grab you and corrupt you are CANCER.

The axe seems to be the only weapon that stuns enemies which again is strange.

I didn't really like the skill tree at first but it's growing on me.

The devs seem to have a hard on for making things tiny. Text is small, soul retrieval puddle after death is small, pickups are small etc.

Still don't have many technical problems on PS5 aside from some stuttering here and there.

I feel like the game has potential but needed like 6 more months or a year to polish and balance it more.

Yeah as a PS5 player I can second this. Also the game seems to do odd things with hitboxes if your target is slightly elevated above you. I've missed massive bosses with attacks despite being right next to them because they were above me by a few inches on a hill.

I just wanted to drop in this thread and say I don't buy chinkware out of principle, but I did not expect a full-on tard brawl.

It's somewhat annoying that there's so many cretins on this site and on the internet, that any disagreement gets you labeled the opposite extreme of whatever these faggots screech about, in this case, the choices being mega gooner to plastic chicks or mega tranny with a love for DEI and niggers.
You should include yourself as one of those cretins if you're the guy I'm remembering right

ive not played the game but looking at gameplay I can see what you mean. A lot of big attacks look like they're missing proper hitstop, quite a few of the animation also come across like the player's holding a plastic tube as opposed to a sword and it looks like the player is locked into animations longer than they should be (rule of thumb is to let the player interrupt the moment they look "stable"). Everyone underestimates game feel but there's a reason why people don't get tired of the souls games despite some playing the same build style from demons souls to elden ring. Hitting things feel good. I'm not being dismissive here. If this were easy to do those souls games would've been washed by competitors ages ago.

Anyway to fix it I;d say it would probably take more than a year just going over so many animations and then you find out that the enemies are too easy now that you changed some thing and it's a whole rabbithole

Maybe ...
But drop receipts or get the fuck out of my face, nigger.
I ain't got time for your drive by faggotry, we're here to discuss the ethics of plastic chinky tits and the billions that will be sacrificed to the Sock Gods.

You know those fake games that serve as background elements to put on a TV screen when a scene in a show or movie has characters chatting and playing video games on a couch? They're usually blurred and out of focus, and are often just a knock off of whatever gaming franchise is most popular at the time of the film's creation.

This game looks like something that should be playing in the background of Netflix slop. It somehow looks even cheaper than photoreal games that were made last generation.

It looks like the devs watched ten minutes of Nioh 2 and ten minutes of Stellar Blade and then decided to mash those two games together without even the slightest understanding of why those games worked.

I made it all up. I don't actually recognize you at all

I mean you only joined the thread to basically post nothing except "boy everybody sure is stupid except me (and people who agree with me amirite)" which was so insecure it was funny to rib you with the vaguest "no stalker child it is you who is the cretin" type shit

But if you want receipts you kinda just made them. fronting like you're contributing now when all you did back ten was glaze yourself and leave. Dare I say you did a..... drive by? Mayhap even a touch of faggotry with the auto-fellatio? you out here acting like you can't remember the first post you made in this thread

unless you're doing a 4D trolling bit where you accuse people of shit while doing it yourself because that's actually kinda funny. And if not hey maybe you'll remember Wuchang now as your receipt whenever you type some variant about how high your rick and mory iq is

Probably doesnt help that the named it like Dragon's Dog Mother. China never beating the slop ripoff allegations at this rate

Beat the game after ~31 hours and it's a lot of fun. It's a very quick game in terms of speed which can make the stamina system a little brutal sometimes considering how much you constantly want to be dodging/running/attacking. I got like 3 boss kills by spamming my special move towards the end which doesn't seem to require stamina for the first attack, just the game's mana system (skyborn might.)

I'd be willing to answer any questions but here's a quick rundown of pros/cons:

Pros:
Armor set variety - Different looks, immediate transmog, stats that matter for different environments and bosses. I basically never used the transmog system but it's free and useable whenever.
Weapon variety - 5 weapon types and magic and the ability to swap between weapons quickly using skyborn might (mana) which draws the alternate weapon out with its skill. Each weapon has its own unique skill. I do mean each weapon, different long swords have a different unique skill, same for other weapons.
Bosses - I had some bosses absolutely demolish me over multiple attempts but the upside of that was that a lot of fights are pretty quick if you play them well.
Shrines - I love them. Being able to level up without respawning enemies. Being able to re-spec at any time. Weapon upgrades being tied into the ability tree. Being encouraged/forced into other weapon trees as you level for stat increases.

Mixed:
The new update: To piggy back off an earlier point one of the fun things in early fights was getting incredibly punished by certain attacks, and the ability to really punish the boss during certain instances. The new update increased your i-frames while knocked down and sped up healing. These are nice changes, but they do take away from some of the brutality of certain encounters/attacks and make you a decent amount stronger.

While defeating/killing a boss and still having it around might bug some people I don't really care, I've played enough JRPGs where you kill the boss and in the cutscene they actually beat your ass.

Cons:
It's a souls-like. Going in completely blind means you're going to miss some quests/NPCs and this will affect your ending.
Some nerfs/changes to the game as mentioned above with certain boss NPCs not getting killed. I believe certain booby traps got nerfed as well which is kind of lame. They were never quite enough to kill you but it was hilarious walking through the snow and getting half your life tanked cause of a mine.

3) I'm assuming this is one of the bosses you can no longer 'kill.' I used all my health potions and barely won, super cool fight.

5) Chilling towards the end of the game. I really enjoyed this armor set (got it from the boss in screenshot 3.)
