Secondary school aged students should be given an option for vocational school.

They should, apprenticeships used to be very common here until many of those jobs went away in the late 80s to 90s. Another issue is that the blue collar union that remains is really gatekeepy to hostile towards new blue collar workers, or anyone interested so that discourages many So.. for unions we are stuck with the teachers union and police union, both which are widely loathed by the community. Many blue collar guys my age just try to work fast as possible, and try to get out soon as possible. But like many, they always wind up coming back due to how pricy it is

I feel like if there were a move to privatize the school system, clothing companies would be on of the first ones to campaign against the privatization of public schools because they don't want to hire child labor within the United States as that would mean them having to pay higher wages and having to abide by labor laws that they get away with by hiring children in the third world to make their materials.

I went to the only Catholic high school without uniforms, but I still got detention for having my skirts .25” shorter than allowed haha. Our dress code was strict, but it was still those early 2000s styles.

I can relate that as well coming from a private school where my options for clothing were two colors of khakis and cargo shorts, and a color-wheel of polos.
It has crippled my sense of fashion. I dress like a 45 year old, divorcee dad.

Catholic boys school for me, the elementary wing's principal was so strict she used to use a ruler for our ties to see if they were straight or not. No one, not even the teachers, liked her, and some students find it hilarious to make her start screaming which she did often. For American standard uniforms, ours was pretty fucking formal and strict, and we didn't have "no uniform" days like this other private school had which made me jealous. To be fair, I always got in trouble for fucking with my uniform and the dress code. Looking back, it was a pretty good education even though it was quite overly strict when we were in elementary.

As a 2001 Zoomie, I have always felt like I stood with a toe in each faction among a totally fractured generation. I was raised alongside the Internet, but I was never immersed from birth. I saw our culture go insane right around 2015, which was timed directly in the middle of puberty and totally destroyed gender relations before they could even develop for a large number of my peers. I graduated in 2019, the last batch of socialized kids before covid wrecked that too. I used to hang around the older kids, but have since dealt with and befriended the younger zoomers as I postponed university until I found a useful major to pursue. Point being: I see the seams which stitch my generation together, and the difference between them is so large, I wouldn't even consider them comparable.

You have guys who were told "sit still, be quiet, you're not wanted, you're not needed" their whole lives becoming uncooperative and misogynistic as a natural response. You have girls who excelled in female-led school, pursue female-led jobs, and understandably feel disappointed at the men around them who never seemed to grow up. You have older Zoomers funneled into CS majors disgusted at "digital nomads" who are oblivious to anything outside the iOS walled garden. This doesn't even touch on the more prominent race differences or the LGBT chasm which has effectively established a nameless state religion which half of zoomers subscribe to.

The worst part about it all is how each pocket blindly dismisses anything from the others. I have to hold my tongue when people force "they/it" pronouns into speech, but I have to hide my love of art and cute things when around right wing chuddies because it's "troon-coded." I'm tired of pussyfooting around my views of history, politics and philosophy to avoid getting cancelled, but I can't even embrace like-minded individuals because they are often some of the biggest losers in the world who just happen to share my beliefs because it absolves them of responsibility for their own shitty lives.

Are tattoos still cool? I'm on the older end of Gen-Z so when I was graduating highschool/in college it was still seen as cool to get them. I don't seem to see a lot of younger adults with tattoos nowadays, and when they do have them more often than not they're very small. A friend and I invited quite a few a while back, most of them flaked, went quiet, or when they showed up, a good portion of them just didn't talk and looked around cluelessly. The few zoomers who were able to talk were really fun, but what really gets me frustrated is how one cried about loneliness, despite not even doing anything to interact. It makes me believe flakiness is also some sort of retarded sport, they try to see how close to the event they can cancel last second. Pretty tiresome.

According to Instagram everyone and their mom has a Brand of Sacrifice Berserk tattoo, but IRL I've also noticed that if people have tattoos they're always very small, usually a friend's of gf/bf's name. Not sure they're cool but they're not lame either IMO.
