Theres so many hoops and personality tests and games to APPLY for a fucking internship these days I don't understand how people get jobs applying cold.
They don't, or the job they are applying for has a high turnover rate. Always avoid the jobs that list "We are a family." in their descriptions, anyone I knew who worked at those jobs described it as hell. The color test I did for a job (never got accepted, no one in my group did) was so pointless, if someone wants to waste my time, I will gladly waste their time in return. If I ever do move to another public sector job that's much better, or get the chance, I'm going to do that trick my friend did with exploiting the keywords.

The humiliation is the goal with those HR ghouls.

Depends small companies and firms tend to be better than larger corps.

At least some of these smaller businesses don't sugarcoat when they are hiring or not. I used to give advice for small businesses for anyone searching for jobs, but.. sadly many of those are shutting down, especially where I live. I heard some startups can be really shitty places though. I will give the family owned ones credit as they don't bullshit that they will mostly hire their family, and won't bother doing anything with you.

despite not knowing my future theres a good restaurant near me that makes good food for cheapish so that fights the doomer in me everytime i see the news

Did anyone ever have these Cube World toys? I remember wanting them as a kid, but my dad never got them because he thought I would lose interest in them quickly and ditch them. Never knew anyone who had them either, and they always felt like a fever dream. I remember seeing one vaguely, but other than that, I never saw them again.

Man that's a throwback, haven't seen those in years. I remember that if you stacked and tilted them the little person would fall through each of them but that's about it lol. I think they died out in popularity because they used those round batteries and (as far as I know) those weren't all too common in stores or people's houses so you just forgot about them.

zoomies are great. as an oldfag channer, I watch the antics of the sharty kids with pride. our generation ruined the internet, zoomers are bringing shitposting back. a lot of my online friends now are kids in their early-to-mid 20s and they're very reminiscent of me and my early internet friends on FFXI and WoW and shit. most of those friends have now driven themselves into some manner of online insanity; many are 24/7 politisperg posters, some have trooned out, some are doomers who don't allow themselves to have fun anymore, some had kids and pushed everything else out of their life. these zoomers are still having fun and experiencing new shit and I have become their Elder Shaman

I knew a kid who did, and they struck me as your average 2000's toy: a piece of solid plastic maybe with an LED that made one of three preprogrammed sounds when you hit a button. My mom saw the grift of having to buy multiple and didn't bother getting them for me (fair enough). Second-most disappointing Cube World I've heard of since Wollay.

It seems the Y2K aesthetic both fashion and Internet wise is finally getting old to people, what do you think the next subculture we're gonna skinwalk as is gonna be

Zoomies of the thread, what would your ideal world order look like?
One where I am the Uber Supreme Ruler of the world, and my word is LAW. A new CROC WORLD ORDER. Dissidents are met with extreme ultraviolence, and rebellion is quelled with an iron fist CRASHING DOWN on those who would dare oppose me.

Please be Metro UI and please don't let trannies overtake it. Metro UI and the windows 8 design had so much wasted potential, and I really hope it comes back.

Trannies seem to take over anything at this point and it's so frustrating whether it gains a significant amount of troons, or the greasy admin in charge troons out.

Will the tranny trend die before we hit middle age. I would prefer a different clown world.
I see it slowing down with how the pendulum is pushing against them, but never fully die. With the amount of hugboxes that can be formed, there will always be something out there.

Has anyone else heard about the "performative male" thing?
Initially, it was used to describe the Noah Samsen "safe feminist" type of male who does quirky things to get attention from women. Now, it feels like just another way for people to put someone down for enjoying something they don't. You only really see guys who act like the stereotype online or at a place you would expect to see them, like a faggy coffee shop downtown. It's entirely subjective what actions are performative. There's a weird fascination with people in our generation dying to call out others, and this just seems like another opportunity to do so. Yeah, it's annoying seeing someone like that in public, but I see people offline calling out single behaviors or interests in individuals as performative rather than calling a whole person putting up a facade.

Cringe culture fucking decimated free expression in our generation and I don't think enough people talk about it. Just let people enjoy things, ok Chud?
Sticker me TMI but I'm autistic as shit. My hobbies are weird and I love them. No woman has ever looked at a guy who plays accordion or collects old technology (privately, for himself) and felt butterflies in her stomach. Somehow, I've been told I'm performative if I dare to even express minor interest in my hobbies with most people.

You've never had an irl friend talk your ear off about how he watches UFC and now he'll sign up for bjj or an MMA gym and learn how to fight even though he never does any of the shit he says he'll do, also you should definitely buy into the shitcoin someone sold him. Stuff like this is when "performative manly" IMO is perfectly fine to use, but if someone says that to you because you have minor interest in some hobby that's "manly" or "manly-adjacent" then yeah, that's stupid.

I didn't know guys like that still existed past when Tapout was considered fashionable and when people seriously said they saw red when fighting, but I've never met anyone with an interest in martial arts IRL outside of at bars where a UFC PPV was being shown.
And yeah, performative masculinity is a real term from academia but it's widely misused by the public, and has largely lost meaning similar to most labels like it.
