I believe they had to be present for the hearings since they were the temporary foster parents, and that is where the info came from, no?

Even if they weren't, if your son gets into this kind of trouble, and it becomes obvious that he has a problem with addiction, and you realize he has been lying to you for a very long time about multiple things (and your grandchildren's wellbeing seems to be at stake), there is no way that you let your lying, addict son be your only source of information about the whole thing. At least not if you care about those grandkids.
Besides, they 100% should have been there (and likely were) to support the two oldest kids that HAD to be present at those hearings.

Also, I am sure people in that little town gossip, this type of info gets around one way or another. Especially if you have people who are part of the family who are mad (that would, at the very least, describe Kayla's sister).

There is no excuse for them not to be aware of what happened. In fact, I would go as far as saying that what happened happened because they weren't paying close enough attention while enabling Rekieta and funding his lifestyle. Remember the rants about him finally being "free" to do whatever he wanted to now that he was making a lot of money? Without their funding, he would have never been able to not work while attempting to become a streamer full time. And his debauchery started long before he had major success.

Either way, any parent with a minimum of self awareness would question whether their actions led to what their child had become. So Bob and Celeste running in to continue funding and enabling him tells you all you need to know about them.

If you have very young, very vulnerable grandkids that seem to be in danger because of your son's irresponsible choices, that supersedes being protective of your kid. It's probably one of the few situations were most (rational) parents would turn against their own kids.

Besides, like I mentioned, if you let your addict son (who keeps denying he has a problem) be your only source of information in a situation like this, at best you are an idiot, and at worst, you are willingly ignoring outside info because you don't want to admit your son is a fuckup who endangers his children.

I do love all the "dumb bitch" talk coming from the mouth and supporters of someone who called her a "dumber than a/dumb as a boxcar (or box cart, even better) of Canadians" and later a"box car/cart of rocks.". I know I'm late, because God damn this thread is gassed up with all the recent events; but air duster is dangerous. Not to get too into it; but had a dude in Iraq damn near die because he snuck a can of air to his room and was huffing it. If Nick is doing canned air... I don't know the odds or whatever... but there's a chance he'll pass out and not wake up. Given his home situation, there's also probably a good chance one of his younger kids are gonna walk into the office and find their dad on the floor, maybe his skin will already be blue. The comment history you're referring to is regarding Bob and Celeste.

This should be clear: Bob & Celeste were NOT the temporary foster parents. Shari (Kayla's mom) and Dan Sletta (Kayla's stepdad) are generally believed to have been the temporary foster parents. They were already foster-certified. Kayla has several foster siblings.

I believe this fact has been confirmed by Nick. Regardless, we know Bob and Celeste visited Ireland, England, and St. Petersburg (where they live) during the 6 months the kids were fostered. They may have been granted access to the kids, but they were not fostering them full time.

Hence, Nick's rage at his in-laws.
