I will not derail too much to speak about Kayla when she has her own thread, but based on everything I know about her, she grew up in a fair to moderately strict Evangelical religious family that was broken. Her mother re-married, and the step-father Sletta seems to be a very good man--however, that trauma seems to have stuck with her. If I had to guess, there was a lot of pathos for the Woltjet/Sletta family, and that translated to allowances made for the children--more so than usual.

Kayla always struck me as the 'good girl' who strayed from the path due to liking for the 'bad boys'. Before the arrest and drugs, she enjoyed the 'love and Jesus' focus of the church, but now she is experiencing the judgement of the community for the first time. She kept up the act for her religious family and now has no idea how to deal with the backlash because she has been hiding her darker interests for a while.

Hard to take him seriously. He’s just a rage twig. All his shouts and antics were just him trying to intimidate and establish he’s in control of the situation which was why Keanu’s cool demeanor made him more angry and retarded because it wasn’t working.

What we saw on stream is probably the same Nick that made Aaron grab a bat. If I was on the receiving end I’d probably just laugh at him. But if I was Kayla and lived with that I can see why she’s always zonked out on pills with rage twig lurking

As a fully grown adult I'd agree with you, but for his kids that shit is probably terrifying since he towers over basically everyone in his family, even if he is spindly shit twig. I'm glad life is giving his behavior the reward it deserves.

The lowest part of the night for me was when Nick first left in a rage-filled shame after Keanu started reading the text messages from April. Then he only came back after Pedo Melton and co. started making her cry by bringing up her abusive ex so he can further pile on the crying woman that was being reminded of her physical abuse because he couldn't actually win a normal argument against her.
