Seems they actually focused a bit on better performance after that test, good. They showed off the friendly fire nerf and...fucking ew. I would post a clip but I've no idea how to do that since I never bothered to before but at 23:30. They might do another beta test but there might not be anything not worth waiting the full game and some patches for. The amount of simping for Crapcom and the devs and jerking off Rise of all games is not surprising however.

Caught the first actual ad for MHWilds today. Least it's the first one I've seen anyway.

It was basically a copy/paste of the initial Street Fighter 6 ads. Some footage of the game that really doesn't do much to draw you in (I saw mostly cooking shit because haha "MMMM TASTY" meme that only makes sense to established hunters) and some niggo holding the controller. Figured I'd share.

I get the food is a comfy aspect of the game, it's a widespread meme at this point, and it does look good; but why? Is it because Rise only had Dango so they're acting like bringing actual food back is a selling point or do they unironically think the cooking is a big enough aspect of the game that new people will enjoy that it's worth including in marketing?

I have been thinking for awhile why cooking is a popular topic in media. Maybe its beacuse the topic is so inoffensive and easy to talk about beacuse everyone eats food. thats why when you always talk about other nations or cultures, food is almost the first thing that gets brought up.

Probably. And if there's one thing most everyone seems to like about the games, it's the fucking food. And Japan is particularly singled out when it comes to culinary aesthetics. So might as well highlight it I suppose.

And I guess they did kinda spice it up this time by having the food you cook yourself have that same level of detail and zazz too.

It annoys me to no end that the English VA for this Character

More reason to play the game in Japanese I suppose

Sub Chads stay winning. Also yeah if there was ever a person to call themselves "non-binary" it would be this...androgynous alien motherfucker.

I would not be surprised if the food makes people go "we're so back, pre-ordering this shit like a retard. Will certainly pull the mutt audience (and I am a mutt, I won't deny it). :story:

I got an excellent on the benchmark which I am happy about it since I was worried about getting the 5070 ti later this month if my 3070 couldnt keep up. Annoying that they are suddenly shtting the bed with optimization when everything prior to DD2 was really well optimized.

Was that Gore in the trailer? Neato. Wonder if that tendril wyvern thing is gonna be another relative of it or some alternate form. Has a similar look.

Still mad there's no Gobbledygook language.

Well Rise had people claiming it was a return to the Glory Days™️ so I wouldn't be surprised. Mutted as well, though, because I did go all gaga when I first cooked a meal.

Overall I like the new monster designs. Nu Udra and Rey Dau are definitely the highlights, but I respect the nips for going in a more out-there direction with a lot of the new blood. (Rose spider, oil mosquito, pack of ugly dog mammoths, giant flying centipede/dragon hybrid, etc.) Arkveld reminds me of Whiplash from Ironman 2 so he's already kind of a joke to me though.

Benchmark is doom pilling me, but not in the way people may expect. I just see all these NPCs I will not give a shit about that I'll have to follow on slow paced scripted cutscenes listening to them yap instead of hunting monsters. Then I have to watch them yap and talk about a story I really don't care about in cutscenes I cannot skip.

I just want to hunt monsters and see my hunter's room that I can hopefully fill with trophy's and armor sets I've collected. The benchmark did not show any monster hunting in a game about monster hunting. Just cutscenes that you likely cannot skip and playable story scripted sequences you for sure can't skip.

Cutscenes are skippable, fren. So there's that.

I think the scripted sequences, though, are a ball buster for sure. The intro sequence we played in the first beta was totally unnecessary and could have just been a long Cutscene. There was no point in giving us very limited control during that chase just to immediately switch back to full Cutscene.
I have never heard of that word beyond an overrated roasty singer
Based on her music, you should have known she wasn't creative enough to come up with that word herself kek.

Same. I'm liking the new blood a hell of a lot more than most of the new kids from Rise and World.

In this way Rise was superior. New zone in World? Enjoy a cinematic, a cinematic slog following an npc, then a cinematic, then a monster that'll take 35 mins to kill if you can even manage. Rise? Eyo take this bus to a new area fr fr og.

I personally hate how convoluted and messy World is. All the systems and mechanics set in place simply to hunt and kill one mediocre mid-game monster. Rise again, you just dropped in and went at it in very clearly defined boss arenas and that's that. SURELY having to kite a monster away from its herd won't get tiring. Or facing 3 of the same beast at once in some kind of council fight akin to the trailer.

I've preordered it almost out of hopelessness in the video game market, hoping at least the new MH game is somewhat worthy of its price. Even weapon systems are getting convoluted. HH had one move that you could put another note into. Now there's several of those rather than overhauling the song system itself, you now gotta understand a bunch of secret mechanics like some kind of WoW rotation that isn't described anywhere but in guides.

Yeah there's a lot of fiddly shit in World I'm not a fan of, and with how large the Zones are and the speed of the monsters, shit can take forever. Rise definitely has that pick up & play advantage to it that I really appreciate. Plus, Rise has Chameleos.

I can also see the herd mechanics and group fights becoming very tedious after the initial fun chaos. Kinda like how fighting both Raths is fun the first couple times, then it becomes annoying as you start farming for mats so just you dung pod one as soon as you can. But I get the feeling we'll have hunts where we're forced into a gank squad no matter what.

The character designs are god damn ugly, so having a troon voice them only makes sense.

Benchmark was a mess for me. So definitely not getting it any time soon. My hope for optimization magic did not pan out.

I can still hit more than 30fps with low, so may play during the betas again.
