That does make it worse, see CP2077, but I think romance in general just leads to stupidity. It's the issue of "we can't have nice things".
The games certainly are, the books are more about the romantic misadventures of fucked up people. You could tell that the sex stuff in TW1 in particular was entirely a sex sells type thing rather than trying to write something decent.
I dunno, it's difficult to see Cyberpunk as particularly coomerized, though I wonder if this is only because the romanceable characters were generally unappealing. Of the two fuckable women Julie was the one who wasn't annoying and despite playing an asian man I wasn't anywhere near feminine enough to get in her pants. Even with the dudes I feel like I'd be put off by River's Gears of War physiognomy if I was a woman and the same goes for Kerry's scuzzy washout aesthetic if I was a homo.

A lot of this social isolation bleeds into the game more than I thought it would, there is clearly trauma dumping going on within some of the dialogue between characters at different stages of the game. Taash arguing with her mom is analogous to authority imposed on these writers/consultants when they were children, parents not letting them be a "free spirit" but never fully outgrowing the immaturity, and resent them for it. "Pulling a Bharv" where society misgenders them and dont really want to deal with the insanity by quickly getting it over with, this is the more obvious one that targets the player (the average consumer) who doesn't immediately play along with the illness. The last is God, trannies hate the Maker, not just in Dragon Age, they hate the idea that possibly an ethereal being made them "wrong". The slogan "defy the gods" seems more literal than hyperbole, they butcher themselves instead of embracing being a sacred image to appease their own retarded perversion of humanity.
