Motorcycle jacket. I always wanted one as a kid because it was part of the official metalhead uniform, but never got one. Now that I'm middle aged, I finally got one. I'll wear it when I feel like flying my metalhead colors in public with more than mere tshirts. I just need to decide if I want to sew band patches to the jacket or wear a size larger jean vest over the jacket.

It's the total extent of my mid-life crisis.

I got a book from one awkward time when it was common for books to be sold uncut, and it turned out to be completely untouched. So instead of using a razor for 300+ cuts I just got the same book again but this time properly cut by someone. (Both were just few $ so no problem)
If you're going to be the weird old relative who hides paper money in their books, "inside" the uncut pages would be fun.

I missed Sorbees and bought a box of Eda's sugar-free candies.

Perfect clone, at least to my nostalgia; it's not just the taste but the mouthfeel. Same brand slogan, too: "Excessive consumption may cause laxative effect."

Telescope

A friend of mine was lucky enough to examine some of the ones Galilei constructed and he took DETAILED measurements he was more than happy to share with me and I plan on making some reproductions some day for my personal collection.

I got two Wera 3/8ths Zyklop ratchet sets in Metric and SAE. I highly recommend these.

I approve of your choice of screw drivers, just a word to the wise though apparently Proxon buy there factory 2nds and they are akin to most other brands premium line (anything really fucky gets melted) and they are supposedly cheaper in some parts of the EU than others by a significant margin and if you can find a place selling them online you can buy replacement bits at half cost. Never tried it myself but it's a thing in some places.

Word of advice DONT, your kids will love you for it when I was growing up I inherited (while he was still with us) my dads old leather jacket and I wore it every day for 10 years and some of my best memories from childhood of me an my dad where him in that jacket, just get a nice one an take care of it an pass it on while your still around to one of your kids while you can see them enjoy it, I still have this jacket and I'm likely going to give it to my Son if i have one or my Neice if I dont.

Fun thing for you, you used to just buy the book from a printer and it was all loose leafe and you had to take it to a binder to have it bound (the two guilds responsible for those trades didn't like each other an didn't play nice) it's why in some works you find reprints of it say's "Instructions to the Binder) about not cutting a folded edge or the orientation of a page etc. You know in books or official documents you fine "This page intentionally left blank" it's a hold over from that period that's sadly going the way of the dodo as well.

I found a £5 note from 1903 in a book I bought for 10p at a car boot sale That's equivalent today of £510 or a working man's salary for a year missing in a single book from that era so not a insignificant bit of change to lose.

If you feel like maybe sorta OK using a saw on a swiss army knife level of tool ownership I can send you some plans to make a very simple just print the fucking thing out an stick it to the wood an bang some nails in with a stone, and it will still look lovely as hell box plans. I proved you could sand an level a surface on a cast concreet floor, if your OK using any sorta tool you can make this its that simple.

Mate, I'm going to let you in on a little secret: just as I'm incapable of sewing a straight line, I'm incapable of sawing at straight line, regardless of whether I'm using a hacksaw, a wood saw, or even an electric jigsaw. About the only wood I can cut straight is balsa, and then only if it's thin enough to cut with a scalpel or box cutter. If I need to cut something that will be on show, I have to get a relative or friend to do it for me.

It is incredibly frustrating, especially since there are some things that I can do well, but this really limits me to finishing off pieces. It's not an experience issue because I've had multiple knowledgable individuals try to teach and correct me over the course of my life. I believe that it's related to the problems my wonky brain meat has with processing spatial information. It's incredibly frustrating, especially since my siblings and father are all extraordinarily talented individuals in that area.

Not many people can afford a full blown midlife crisis these days.

I finally bought my first Tokidoki Unicorno figurine. It's the Year of the Rat figurine because of course it is. Edit: I cancelled the order. I forgot that I have to hit the hardware store for unfortunately non autistic needs next week. Fml

Cut wide plane back, also try a Japanese saw like a Ryoba they work on the pull stroke an you hold them in a different way people who can't use a western saw love them I have a few of them just because and they are really nice to use as in no thought or effort needs to be put into using them.

Do you intend to purchase a few and use them to traumatize the youth come Halloween, as is right and proper?
The thing about a 12-foot skeleton is that it's big and scary, but you can see it's there from a long distance away. That's the duality of outdoor skeletons.

Children should be forced to confront the reality of skeletons.

Ordered some vehicles I found that scale with those figures I got a few pages back. They're like generic cheapo shit I plan on modding to look less cheap and dollar store-lke.
I just got a notification upon checking shipping that it's apparently arriving today.

Screengrabbed the latest tracking update because the number is too heavy of a coincidence not to.

EDIT: It happened again like right after I sent this.

An Aliexpress order I made was labelled processed/shipped/arrived on my doorstep in the span of twenty four hours. A shitload of complaints and bad reviews were posted to the shop front's page at the same time, and Aliexpress ended up making a shitload of refunds for what was clearly a scam. It's something to watch out for.

The Sanrio drawers I ordered last week still haven't shipped. I'm getting rather vexed.

I finally found a waste paper basket coloured the right shade of purple to compliment all the plastic Kuromi tat on my desk. In my defence, I really do need a new waste paper basket, as my current basket is old and cracked and scratched and generally manky.
