Nick wants his kids back because that is 'winning' to him. His kids belong to him, and the state took them away. That means the state beat him and took his toys away, like his teacher took away the transformers toy all those years ago. Nick HAS to get his kids back because anything else means he lost, which is ego death for a narcissist like him.
 
Interesting aside in Nick's stream last night on the subject of murder as a crime, bail and appropriate punishments.

Nick generally seems to believe that most murderers are not bad people and are not likely to repeat their crime. Based on them not being a threat to the community and the likelihood of a repeat crime being low, they deserve low to no bail and (probably) short sentences in prison.

But on the other hand, black people who live in the wrong places deserve high bail and long sentences based on Nick's extensive knowledge of them from the TV show like "the wire".

Its an interesting unlikely mix of some very liberal ideas (crime should dealt with based on the threat the person poses to the community in future rather than what they did) and good old fashioned racism which says you punish "those people" differently.

 
Heard we got some actual news recently on Nick, could anyone give me a summary of what happened recently ? I had real life stuff that took away all the time that I could have spent here

a.) Had snorted up all the kid's Ritalin and so had to find her a substitute, or
b.) Just got the notion that if Ritalin is good for ADHD, how much better would cocaine be?

He might have got the idea that because it 'works well' for him (and by 'works well', I mean it has deluded him into thinking he derives some superior benefit from cocaine when compared to his prescribed stimulant) then surely it would also 'work well' for his nine year old daughter?
