The interaction between alcohol and stimulants is a particularly bad one as they both negate the negative side affects of one another in the short term while accelerating and amplifying the user's dependency on each in the medium to long term. It's hard to believe Nick isn't a full blown addict at this point even by the standards of people who have a very generous definition of "heavy user" vs addict.

The cops did put down the caliber, it's .22. They didn't put down the chambering, it's .223 WIN or Wylde. Guess what, .223 actually shoots .224 bullets. Go look at reloading stuff. You'll see plenty of sites listing .22 cal bullets of all kinds of common weights for .223/5.56. .22 caliber doesn't just mean .22LR or .22 Short or .22 WMR. It's a measurement, not the chambering of the rifle.
