Hambone will probably blame his team when he doesn't win that too...
GUYS WHY IS HE STILL AHEAD OF ME, MAN

Uhm...copy Lewis, we believe he got ahead in the Q&A portion, not to worry we still have the swimsuit and national costume coming up.

Lewis, the swimsuit is bad, we know, please walk it.

And if the F1 Miss Universe pageant ends up being the case, it'll end up being like this

Spicy headline from sky F1

Almost had a heart attack thinking she'd come up with an actually good point and somehow hadn't been cancelled hard for it.

In reality she's saying women's only series aren't respected enough and there should be a percentage of seats in F3 and F2 mandated to have women drivers in them. An ever worse idea that the failure that was W series and is F1 academy.

In other news sky F1 did their "mid year ratings" for drivers.

The fuck does he need to do for a solid 10? He's absolutely decimated the field and scored the highest percentage of points of any driver.

They gave Hamilton an 8 for the season so far (and George a 6).

Comparing to previous seasons they gave hambone a full 10 for the full season in 2016, you know the year Rossberg won.

Gee Danica, I wonder why women drivers aren't respected?

"Rule No. 1 in stock car racing is learn how to wreck someone without wrecking yourself."

Thing is, I find the comparison with female drivers to be potentially quite interesting. Would women physically be worse at racing than men? Obviously F1 drivers are athletes, but in very specific ways, and being lighter is always a plus, so they might actually be very good at it potentially.

Problem is that there are no women that can compete, and while there aren't, you can try to polish that turd all you want but it's not going to work. Putting them in series with men is just going to emphasize that fact and lose women drivers any respect they may have. And it's not like these women have additional challenges, let's face it, if you were a woman who could come anywhere close to a Latifi you'd be in an F1 car in no time, the sponsors would eat that shit up.

I am all in for women in F2 and F3. Bring them in and show the world that women really aremt as fast as men. Get the best ones too, Chadwick, the chick in indy nxt. They are supposedly the best of them all - let them try their hand.

This is something that's always been life's greatest mystery. I have no question in my mind that women are capable of accomplishing truly great things. The thing with competition is, however, that you're being tested against someone else, and no matter how good you are, if there's someone better, you're not gonna win a whole lot.

Physical sports is a lost cause, and only the most fanatic still hold out hope there.

Mental sports, we at least have Judit as a proof of concept in Chess.

E-sports, well, that's it's own disaster zone, but I think there might be something.

Motor sports, I don't know if we have that down to a science. We know what makes for a good lifter or football player, even a little bit for Chess, but for motorsports, do we know what makes for a good driver?

It's going to be massively kino when a woman makes it into F1 and the usual suspects start asking why she's languishing in a Williams or Haas when she's being denied the RB seat she deserves (coz woman). Surely then, the first woman on P1 will only be a matter of time, and if that doesn't happen, why isn't Max being given team orders?

To be fair, I forgot, we do know what happens when a girl makes it into F1. She crashes into everyone she sees (crikey) while acting like everyone's favorite princess for the cameras.

Reflexes, quick thinking, good memory, a fuckton of practice - and physical strength. Driving around a circuit at 320km/h and pulling 3gs mutliple times on the same lap will tire you out sooner than later without proper practice.

That's all well and good, but that's true for a lot of sports. I mean things that are specific, or a known set of traits that goes into driving.

For example, years ago, I saw a paper that outlined I think 19 (or was it 34?) traits that contributed to good football performance. The only one I remember was a lung capacity of a certain level. I don't recall much so I can't cite it. But it saw that world cup tier players have just 2 or 3 missing, while national/collegiate level can have 5 or more.

In Chess, long term memory and patter recognition seems to be favored over logic.

In weightlifting, muscles of a certain composition, deeper tendon insertion points, and limb proportions are some of the outlined traits.

However, I see your point on how strength and endurance can take a toll and may spell bad news for any woman looking to break into the top level if even if she has the mental acuity to drive fast, how will she respond to fatigue for example? Will the female physiology accumulate it quicker in a race car?

The only muscle that you need to drive an F1 car is the neck which no one trains before reaching F1 (see Nick De Vries being unable to get out of the car in Monza last year because his neck gave out despite already being a single-seater driver).

Besides the G-forces, F1 cars aren't hard to drive because all the controls are by-wire now. Romain Grosjean has commented that it was very difficult for him to drive an Indycar at first because he lacked the arm and grip strength to control the steering. Pato O’Ward said that he was constantly overbraking the McLaren F1 car during his test last year because it needed way less force on the pedals to brake.

Racing is like Chess where mental ability is more important than physical ability.

There's a certain mental aspect that hasn't been mentioned yet, I don't know if there is an official term for it but it's that drive to do dangerous shit to prove yourself. It's evolutionary psychology, men are more likely to go do stupid (or brave) things to impress women to make themselves more attractive as a mate. Chad over there killed a Mammoth by himself, whereas Glug can only manage puny rabbits. Chad is the stronger and more cunning as a bachelor.

This is why women live longer, men have been trained by evolution to take risks to win big. Evel Knievel wrecked many times and broke countless bones trying to jump motorcycles over things, but he also got mad pussy doing it. This same mentality applies to racing. I'm not saying that there aren't women with the desire to go fast every day, there absolutely are. But they are much less common over the whole population.

Come to think of it that number might decrease considering girls who show interest in things boys like (EG: racecars) or otherwise being a tomboy are being transformed into pooners.

The Las Vegas debate or not, look at the actual track layout. It's going to be the most boring race of the year.

It’s because they want to drive down the Strip for pictures and the Strip is a long, wide, and straight road. It’s probably going to race similarly to Baku.

Risk Aversion, in this case, lack thereof.

There's also male variability. More retards for more geniuses.

I mean there was lella lombardi. she did 17 f1 races back in the mid 1970s and scored points once. (granted, 0.5 points).
could happen again, why not. i think it's be cool if it ever did.

You just know that sky F1 and every shil will be hailing it as the greatest race ever even if it is utter shit.

Liberty need this to work and no one who wants to keep their contract showing the race will be permitted any negative opinions.

Interestingly Las Vegas is the only race that is being primarily and exclusively promoted by FOM. They're already going on about it being the new crown jewl in F1.
